This is not a thread bump for attention, but to make an additional comment! I know the RAID is going on at the mo and that is the Big Thing™ right now, but my soon-to-be level ten Titan and I are enjoying running around and making observations. This thread is probably going to be a sort-of blog for my in-game experiences. STORYLINE NAVIGATION I would have liked a more intuitive way to pursue story missions. When I first got to the Moon I was like "Ah! Awesome!" and spent some time cruising around before doing what was required. After that, the world opened up. In order to proceed to the next story mission, though, I had to go go back into orbit, select it from the map, do mission, and then repeat. I know the idea is to provide easy access to replaying missions on different modes (or for whatever reason!) which is very helpful. But if there is the idea that you want to cultivate an 'open world, come and explore' way of thinking, I feel this is counterintuitive to that end. The patrol missions are meant to be the balance point - land and see what there is to see and kill what there is to kill (and loot. don't forget loot!) but, again, if you decide to stop exploring and experience a story chapter, going to orbit to do that seems very tedious. Perhaps it'll be possible to play organically, land on the newer worlds, and see mission nodes as well as story nodes which, when played, unlock on your star map? And perhaps before then they are greyed out when viewed on your map? Again, just more thoughts! I look forward to the day when I can tackle the raid!

 • here I am once again! Not to bump my own thread, but to keep my thoughts in one place. So! Last night I hit level 20, and completed my final story mission. NOW WHAT? It's obvious the story doesn't end there - blatantly so as stated in the last cut scene - but the question remains. ...now what? You guys keep saying the game just begins after 20 and, sure, the world seems to open up and I can access lots of goodies and go beyond 20 and get Cool Things™, which is great. As a single player, however.... why? Queen's Wrath is upon us, sure, but... am I supposed to care? Most of the bounties I still can't do as a single player (Crucible, Strikes, etc) so I see little point other than my own machismo, and the thrill of accomplishing what I *can* do. I, like many, hoped this would add more story content, so I'm a little disappointed. And speaking of; WHAT'S GOING ON? I get the basics; Good guys shooting bad guys in space. Protect Earth. But I'm lacking invesement in anything other than myself. I know as a studio you guys say "create your own legend" and, yes, I have epic tales under my belt to tell with friends about my adventures across The Currently Known Unverse, but otherwise... ?? I don't really care. With Halo, it took me quite some time to get into the story, I started with H3, Played ODST, Reach, and went backwards, and I got it eventually. But what kept me going through it were Shiny Things (The way you frame cinematics has been consistently amazing) as well as the characters throughout. Especially the characters throughout. As a Guardian, I'm invested only in myself and know very little as to what's going on. Our Mysterious Stranger Friend does share the obvious insight as to the fact we're just getting started, but I feel like the journey of teasing this aspect fell a little short, and rushed. This was probably a conscious studio choice, I think. You guys had something HUGE to build. We did get a fair bit of game right out of the box, which I'm sure was a pain to orchestrate. I imagine as the months go by, you will roll out more story oriented goodies for us, probably featuring the other two threats (the Hive, and Caball) but in the meantime there is a bittersweet feeling in my stomach. I had fun and fought a good fight, but... why? Speaking of what's going on. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING My wife and I both share this complaint. There is no walkthrough at all about the upgrading process, the engram process, the vanguard points, collecting crafting materials on world, et. al, and why they are important. The more you play, the more you just rather accept that it just... is what it is and move on. To be fair, I can get a great deal of gear on my own and be happy with what I have, but moving forward, I'm not entirely sure what to do and the ins and outs of the world. Still, even when entering the tower, there could have been the opportunity to walk through, show us around. Maybe get us involved with our chosen Class Vanguard as they did so and get to know the vendors as individuals on a more personal level, rather than pick out the personalities from the banter they spout from time to time when you're near. (light character investment?) This was probably another choice that was conscientiously made by you as a whole, considering the big picture of your build, but It has left a lot of us feeling alienated and a little aimless. I do realize that this is meant to put more emphasis on the social aspect, which it is still fun to leap into the fray and fight along side passers-by. Live/Plus accounts aside, however, it should still be of personal value when you are without a Fire team. All that being said, I am proud of my in-game accomplishments- I did so much by myself and I did have fun doing so! I look forward to what you all have in store, and I'll scrape my pennies together for the expansion passes.
