Everyone realizes that the inclusion of matchmaking for raids would NOT preclude people from organizing a team of friends and running the raid/strike together, right? This isn't a one or the other issue. It's a "add other ways to play" issue. A "social shooter " MUST include mechanics within the game to make it SOCIAL. Hell, "VGA Planets" had a better system of getting people together to play ... Look at WoW ... dungeon queues, across servers no less, in order to make playing the dungeon easier. Does anyone expect to get the best experience that way? No. But, it lets people play and PRACTICE without having to invest inordinate amounts of time. This is a video game, not a Thesis Project. I like Destiny but there are some things that need to be reconsidered and tweaked.

    1) Players cry about no matchmaking and how hard it is to find 5 other players 2) Bungie implements matchmaking to shut the whiners up. 3) Same players return to forums to bitch about how people rage quit and the raid is too hard, tears stream for nerfs. 3) Bungie dumbs down the raid to cater to said babies, ruins a perfectly good game, so everyone and their mother has exotics

  •
3) Same players return to forums to bitch about how people rage quit and the raid is too hard, tears stream for nerfs.
Except people are already complaining about the raid being too hard, so that's a moot point
3) Same players return to forums to bitch about how people rage quit and the raid is too hard, tears stream for nerds.
But those people don't have to use the matchmaking! What part of that concept still continues to elude you??? Holy hell.

  • And the developer make less money, its a busniss, console gamers will always have the majoritis at casual not hardcore gamers.. Activision wants to make money, so 10 habby casuals is better then one happy hardcore gamer,, thats life. but they can make a easy version and ha hard version, that way everyone is happy

  • 1) Well, with that logic, Destiny should have never been released in the first place. That way no one could ever bitch about anything included or excluded and the sanctity of the game would never be questioned or changed. ... ;-)

That cheeky wink says it all. People complain about everything, ever. That doesn't mean good ideas should be ignored for fear of change.

  • Agreed. As with any game with matchmaking, people can still form their groups outside of the game to play with. Matchmaking simply allows those of us who don't feel a need to try and beg to get into a group a chance to see all of the game.
