PVP is perfectly balanced IMO.

Okay so people cry about shotguns... They're only strong in melee range. That's fine. Snipers are a 1 shot headshot... As they should be. Let's talk supers. They're called SUPERS. They're supposed to guarantee kills. Pretty much everything is fine IMO. If they kept it all as is, people will eventually adjust and realize it's perfectly balanced.

  • Personally, I don't think PvP is in anyway balanced. It's quite ridiculous how much punishment goes to players who choose to use any other weapon other than an Auto Rifle, Shotgun, or Fusion Rifle. I like to main with a Hand Cannon and Scout Rifle for Primary and I usually get wreaked by the opposing team, since the majority of players are using Auto Rifle and Shotgun set up. Call me unskilled if you wish, but with a Hand Cannon CQ I should have the clear advantage, especially if I get the drop on an opponent; the Hand Cannon is practically like a Shotgun(in my opinion at least), so when in CQ, shooting 2-3 rounds at the head should be a kill. Sadly, that doesn't happen in this game, rarely at the most, since there's time in between shots fired for a Hand Cannon. I honestly feel Auto Rifles are the, go-to-win guns in this game and it's just unfair sometimes. Even when I'm using a Scout Rifle from a effective distance, the Auto Rifle can STILL kick my ass which feels just ridiculous. Every weapon should have it's strengths and weaknesses, and Auto Rifle seems to have too many strengths, IMO. On to the idea of supers and grenades, some of these Supers clearly are more "effective" than others. I'll point at the Bladedancer, being because if it takes more than 2 shotgun shots to the face CQ(if they're not already swinging at you), there's something wrong there. I haven't played Bladedancer, but I've had some come into my Defender's bubble with my buff, Armor Of Light(which practically makes you almost invincible) and Force barrier(with it's strengthen buff), so I'd assume I could go toe-to-toe with it in my own domain. NOPE, they kill me within seconds, even with me shotgunning and meleeing them like crazy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't/isn't the Defender the bulkiest of all the Subclasses? For grenades, I don't even have to explain how crazy powerful Warlock's grenades are. They have a one that practically follows you till it kills you. Given they're "Warlocks" I could let that slide, but some grenades could just use a perk to buff them or be buffed in general. PvP's no where balanced, in the way that it should be. But of course, this is just MY OPINION as well on the topic.

      The PvP is balanced and I die... A LOT. The way it should be, as I am bad at PvP... And it should be that way.

        • The PvP isn't balanced but then its more of an arcade shooter in my book and quite comparable to CoD. A competitive shooter this is not. Not a bad game but really overhyped, but it will fill the gap till h2's out.

        • I have fun most of the time. If you keep getting killed by a shotgun then get a shotgun and kill them back. I never understood why people scream nerf when you could just use it yourself.

        • Totally agree with you. Maps right now are generally small or have tight corridors, which is where shotguns excel. Don't want to be destroyed by shotguns? Get out in the open for mid to long range weapons. Shotguns don't 1-shot from 100 yards!

        • Is it perfect? No. But it is pretty damn close. My only frustration so far is with the Bladedancer super. They can take way to much damage while the power is engaged. I've unloaded entire clips into enemies that have the power activated and they've still sliced me up. Talk about frustrating. I understand what they were trying to do with it, but damn! Not sure what would be the best route to nerf it without making it completely useless. Hopefully they are, or will begin, testing this out and trying to find a good balance. I have faith that they will. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about shotguns. Are they powerful? Definitely. Are they too powerful? Not at all. It's a nice balance. Reminds me a lot of the shotgun from the Halo games. I love the sound effects they used for the gun. Gives me a half chub just thinking about it now. If you get caught coming around a corner and you get blasted in the face, maybe you should have used your radar a little better. Or perhaps you can make a mental note of where that smug shotgun wielding bastard is on the map and plot your revenge, or better yet stay away from him all together so you don't keep getting yourself killed. I think scout rifles and the handguns are pretty much useless and have no place in the crucible. Pulse rifles can be useful if you're running with a fireteam and don't have to worry about being the enforcer of your team. Auto rifles are always a good way to go, and snipers, fusion rifles, and heavys all work well. All in all I think that everything is pretty gravy davey. Just find a way to balance out Bladedancer and I'll be happy.

          • The problem isn't shotguns are OP, they serve a purpose and serve it well, but when 8 out of 12 players are using ONLY the shotgun for the ENTIRE match, it's a little out of hand.. the problem is, I believe, that special ammo is far too abundant... The same could be said of the fusion rifles as well, but I would have to say, after 3 hours of using only a fusion rifle for a bounty, they're broken. I don't think it's the damage that needs nerfing, just the effective range/accuracy at range. Again while using the fusion rifle I never ran out of ammo, so I could just continuously run around and 1 shot anything that moved. It was crazy how easy it was to walk all over everyone, auto rifles, scout rifles, pulse rifles, none of them stood a chance, only a shotgun/fusion rifle/sniper/super could take me out.... So to cap it off, Shotguns aren't OP, Fusion rifles need to have their range/accuracy tweaked, and special ammo needs to become a little more scarce in general, and that should solve the issue of shotguns and fusion rifles running rampant in the crucible

          • My only thing is the Bladedancer Super is way to OP. Other then that your spot on everything is perfect. My only Complaint is lack of gametypes that keep me interested for longer then an hour. If I could choose a newgame type I would like a capture the flag kind of variant or maybe a SnD knockoff would be good too. The weapons are ok in my opinion, the shotguns are strong but only up close. Snipes are 2 shot to the chest and 1 to the head which is perfect. Most people use Auto Rifles because they are best suited for most situations but I in all honesty like the Pulse Rifles best in pvp. They have the same stopping power of most AR's but have better head shot ratios. If I were to nerf anything about Destiny would be the Bladedancer, and the only reason I would do that is they can seriously hold down the melee button and constantly teleport across the map and have double shields...to much power in my opinion. What I think they should do is take the double shield off or give it a 3 kill limit.

            • the only thing i see even remotley wrong with pvp is the loot system..oh hey my first legendary in destiny...damn i cant believe i got this afking in pvp...2 days later i still cant believe i got this afking in pvp.. no i dont really afk but i hada phone call so i ran to a discreet corner and when i cam back what do you know free legendary wooowoo..wonder how the guys on my team who ran 30 kills and got nothing felt about that

                Until Bungie bring Pulse And Scout rifles up to the effectiveness of Auto rifles, the Crucible will never be balanced. Very rarely have I seen anyone use the Pulse and Scout and I certainly never use them myself. Scout & Pulse are rubbish even in PvE, which is a shame because I would dearly love to use Scout rifles more with their sleek bullpup design. Oh and the Hand Cannons are nothing of the sort. They are useless.

                • Really? When I was level 10, I kept running into people playing who were level 20+ who were able to play the match with superior armor and weaponry and couldn't do much of anything. Granted I'm not a fan of PvP because I'm not that great against other people, but when they have superior everything, then its kinda lame. If nothing else, need to match people of similar levels better in my opinion, instead of being thrown against people nearly twice your level with all the bells and whistles that come with it.

                    • Warlocks don't have a guaranteed super kill. The nova bomb can be dodged, and really doesn't have the best range of damage.
