Everyone doesn't hate Destiny because its new and different. People are complaining about it because it failed to deliver on what it promised: a deep, rich world with an epic story to tell and interesting characters to guide you. And what we got was an empty shell of a world with a poor story, cardboard characters and repetitive, meaningless objectives.

  • Its america, ANYTHING being sold doesnt promise mediocrity. Bungie invested alot of time and money. In their eyes im sure they see the game in a different light. The critics (who now rate Destiny meh) helped to overhype the game also.

  • This guy has it right. Destiny is fun, great new game, most likely epic franchise. Maybe the future games will deliver the empty promises, but currently we didn't receive what was advertised from the start. When someone says they'll give you a cookie, you expect a cookie. When they throw crumbs at you instead, these are the types of reactions you get. Some suck it up since it's still a good game, some are hurt(lied to), some shocked, but most are fine cause they're brand new and had no time to be lied to. They just see a good game delivered, not the promises Bungie made and didn't keep. I'm one of the newer ones. I played beta. I didn't know about the exploration lie until after I played the beta, so my mind had already decided that I like everything in this game. If I had been promised free roaming, to be able to WALK to every place I see and explore, then realise I can't actually do that, I would be very upset. That's not just a cookie for some, it's the whole cake. Meaning.. sure, if they stumbled upon Destiny, they probably would have loved it. But they didn't stumble, they were lured in with false advertising. For Destiny, yes, you stole their $60 +tax, but you probably lost some die hard fans. They could at least say sorry, we couldn't implement this feature, to give resolution to the problem.

  • I totally agree! I'm not saying the game sucks I actually find it fun when i play with my friends but man the story sucks. It sucks how games now have huge marketing campaigns just to lure us into buying a game and not delivering what they promised.
