I've gotta say as much as I'm enjoying the game it's mostly because I'm a loot whore. It's frustrating that I can't chat to people in my vicinity, and apparently not one person is interested in joining a fire team. I find it strange that so many people are wanting to solo through the game when you really get no emotion out of it. You can go for hours with roughly ten words of dialogue. I agree with you completely about the story and variation on the mechanics. If the expansions are just more of the same I'll be a little sad. That said I find the gameplay fun, but there's only so far that can carry it if you don't feel invested in the world.
