It's a great anti-camp mechanism.
I think it makes the mode more exciting and enjoyable.
If you are getting killed by shotguns all the time, then stop trying to run and gun(this isnt COD) and play more carefully. If you are getting shot by snipers all the time, then I don't know, because this has never happened to me.
Also, just because you aren't good at PVP doesn't mean the games mechanics are at fault. Just learn to play better. Use the Radar, instead of complaining about it. If your enemy is using the radar to their advantage, then so can you right?

Oh wow, I didn't know people who hadn't played COD even existed anymore haha. Well I only mentioned COD because that was basically the game which glorified running and gunning.
