Quite literally every MMO I've ever played has some form of auction house function. I don't understand why Bungie is so adamant against having a player-driven economy.

Because then it would be way too easy and people could have any gun they want. Its not very imaginative at all

To be honest, no. But does it matter? Hell no. The game has been made and Bungie would not change the economy that dramatically. Practice apathy man, it helps

I believe it is to give more value to the items you find, a legendary hand cannon is worth more to you when you find it as an item drop rather than if you buy it from someone else who is "done using it" and puts it for sale.
