I agree the story, or lack thereof has been the biggest let down. They could have at least have shown a cut scene in the intro scene showing the brutality of our enemies...I mean give me a reason to hate them . Give the character a purpose and motivation. I'm sure the story will pick up and grow as the series progresses, but just like you would not want to read half of a novel before becoming emotionally engaged I would likewise rather the story have some legs from the start

I AGREE, Borderlands 2 so far has this beat HANDS DOWN !!! (in terms of a FPS ,story, characters, Humor, YOU NAME it) Lack of progressing from one planet to another WITHOUT the aid of a fire team is almost impossible!! For ALL you boo hoo team players, there are some that sill want to progress thru the game on their own when they choose. This does not mean that either option should be cut, hindered or restricted in anyway, but both should be given a fear shake to enjoy this game !!!

I made it through every story mission solo. Never really had an issue because by the time I got to the last few I was already two levels over them. I did spend quite a bit of time doing patrol and gathering up bounties but it is possible to get through normal difficulty setting alone. Only thing I needed help with were Strikes and they require at least three.

I've been going solo for a while and have realized the importance of fire teams, but certainly is possible to go alone simply takes longer.
