Titan shoulder charge a One Hit KO nerf!

I really enjoy the PvP in Destiny, and everything was awesome in the lower levels, but now that everyone is getting their skill trees higher, a few abilities are becoming a bit overused and overpowered in their current state; namely the Titan's shoulder charge. There's no reason this ability should be a one-hit kill in PvP, especially with the buffs already to Titan's melee. No other class gets an ability (Besides the super buffs of course) that grants a OHKO in close quarters combat, and the fact it has a large instantaneous lunge makes it that much more OP. It would make more sense if the shoulder charge took the place of the melee ability of the Striker; but the fact that it's its own ability and it deals an instant kill makes it that much more imbalanced. There's been numerous times that a Titan has not even thought about using a weapon, and has instead charged forward and melee'd before I get the chance to hit them a few times with my weapon and melee myself. This completely counteracts any form of skill-based play if one player who chooses a particular class can just sprint forward and get a guaranteed melee kill with a massive lunge, whereas another who chooses a different class cannot. Even with an Arc Blade active, the Titan will still trade kills with the Hunter in a melee battle, and that's quite unbalances seeing as one is a super and one is just a skill tree ability with infinite recharge, as long as you sprint beforehand. I suggest decreasing the damage so that the one hit kill is no longer possible off a skill-tree based ability, as these should only be possible with a super ability. Possibly even changing this as a replacement for the Storm Fist if the player chooses it could also even out the CQB fights in the Crucible. EDIT: For everyone commenting who seems to be a Titan and doesn't want their one-hit kill ability nerfed, I'm not trying to JUST make your class weaker, I'm trying to bring to the attention of staff that [u]ONLY[/u] one class gets an ability for something like this; so either nerfing it to make everyone equal in CQB, or buffing the Warlock and Hunter for a respective OHK skill should create parity between the classes. At the moment, each class is equal at every range except for the Titan at close range. Therefore, it's imbalanced.

  • Shoulder charge is literally the only thing that makes a titan a titan. Feel like a titan. Shoulder charge is not that great unless you want to die 5 times for 1 lucky hit. Shotguns and blink shit all over shoulder charge. Titans are already terrible choices in pvp. We need kills with melee for overshields, warlocks only need hit. Meanwhile hunters are still very rampant in pvp. Smoke grenades are ridiculous, id even take the effects of smoke for an actual punch. Cloaking by crouching is better too. A lot of titans get shoulder charge kills yes, but the price of dying by residual enemies make the ability already crap. Very rarely will my shoulder charge kills/attemps and fails be above a 1.0 kd. The point is is that its very sacrificial and barely rewarding. If anything, if shoulder charge didnt exist at all. Titan universal kd might actually be higher, why? Because its a perk that entices you to rush with speed like reinhardt in overwatch but with the health of a nat. This game does not diversify classes well. Every pvp strategy thus far revolves around playing carefully and intelligently. All classes just feel too neutral still. Hunters i would say feel the best because smoke is really good. Cloaking. Shade step. Blink.. Jumps are more effective. Warlocks and titans feel too basic still. No significant armor even in a super. And warlocks outside of stormtrance and axion bolts feel otherwise cliche.

  • You havn-'t a clue have you you call nerf on shoulder charge that really stupid hunters have a 1 hit kill with there thoring knife warlocks have a over shield if they punch you not kill you , hunters have trip mines and grenades that take you out of super and warlocks have two punches and two grenades not to mention a game braking self revive that can make them throw 12 grenades using it and you call nerf on one of the only things titan got to kill you get a life. I'm sick of hearing hurt titans but not any other charter this is why destiny going to hell because all of these nerfs

    I don't know if it got nerf like you hoped it seems to just take more time to charge the shoulder charge.

  • ONLY one class gets an ability for somethin, his quote, scorch melee on Sunsinger makes overshield, both warlock and hunter can I shot melee, hunter has killed me inside my own bubble with blink strike, and your complaining that titans are overpowered, I have one thing to say: GGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTT GGGGGGGUUUUUUUUDDDDDD

    • I use shoulder charge all the time. It makes up for the fact that I punch with tiny t-rex arms. If you get killed by shoulder charge head on, you don't know how to use your weapons. I have to be sneaky as all hell to make it work. I have to come from behind/above/below, estimate my proc' window, and hit you before I get that ohko. It's not easy by any stretch and takes practice. There is a radar in the top left corner of your screen that tells you when enemy combatants get close. It usually works pretty darn well to warn of incoming assault. I'd suggest working on your map awareness, spacing, and gun play, before bitching about shoulder charge and striker titans.

        • You know how many times I die by a shotgun shot before I even get a chance to throw my punch? Or in the middle of throwing it? Do you know how long I have to be running to even use it? And if it's even ready I have to find where you even are, even then it'll probably run out and I won't even be able to use it by the time I see you. It's by far nit even close to being OP.

            • You have two hunters past lvl 20 and a titan who hasnt even broken lvl 10. Until you have used the ability yourself, dont cry for it to be nerfed. Try it for yourself - it isnt OP. Also, use sticky grenades. Turns "argh you killed me" into "damn, you killed me...but you have something on your face."

              Ok, then change it so that the warlock has to get a kill with its melee to attain a shield rather than just connecting the melee. Because titans can't melee without a kill for the shield. Also make every classes melee range the same. Least to greatest: titan, warlock, hunter. It just doesn't work that way. You take the shoulder charge away and you make the titan class even weaker. Have you even noticed that barely anyone uses it?

              OK you want the classes to be equal, then a warlock shouldn't get a shield for just hitting the enemy only for a kill and hunters should have to stay within a small specific area to use their super just like everyone else. Don't like that? Then stfu Edit: by the way the classes aren't equal at all ranges especially when it comes to melee, hunters have a huge range advantage over all other classes with their knife

              • I believe that the Titan needs shoulder charge and FOH to help the already lackluster class. Shoulder charge is weak to shotguns. It may be cheap but juggernaut is the reason why everyone uses it. Just make juggenaut stay up after you jump and shoulder charge becomes less common.

                  • The level of skill and luck I require to land this hit is insane. You are completely vulnerable up until the hit is registered, POST-MORTEM AGAIN. Almost anything can interrupt it and your at the rest of the packs mercy until it the graphic/motion is finished. Even with arc blade.........please share your secrets. Would definitely enhance my game play. Not equal at close range. Warlock has a ranged melee. Can get 2 hits to 1 returned. Best nerf that. Hunter appears faster. Best nerf that. Warlock grenades seek target where titans stay put. Better nerf that. Can bring different weapons and perks to crucible to suit your player style......nerf it. Vanilla COD style crucible......oh yay. Gives me one edge against you guys seriously. Nova bomb, arc blade, throwing knife, golden gun, fists of havoc to mention a few account for 80% of my deaths. Don't hear me nerf calling.

                    • All I hear is someone crying because they can't adapt their tactics, and never learned to not have their way all the time. Hear are some suggestions: Shoot more Dodge Welcome the charging death machine with a sticky grenade Use your super Don't expect to make it through every match without dying. And quit asking for nerfs. If anything, ask for a better ability on other classes. Why, in a video game, do we ask to make things more lame...it's a video game, anything can be done. Don't make something strong crappy, make something crappy strong.

                      • Warlock and Hunter = blink shotgun melee.... no [b]long[/b] charge needed or even relative skill to sneak up to [b]actually[/b] land the shoulder charge. Decent pvp player (if you can call a pvp player that at all) wouldn't get snuck up on and would[b]back up an shoot[b] if they saw a Titan running at them, not stand there screaming frozen in terror. This is why I hate pvp players! Nerf Queens. Easy solution, play pve..... no shoulder charges there.
