You really only need to bother getting the one which contains the bunny emblem, you get nothing of value from the others.

Yes, but what you get when you get all FIVE from a planet IS pretty valuable. Take all five gold chests form Earth and you are given an upgraded Sparrow. You'd have to shell out 2000+ glimmer if you wanted to buy it form the Shipwright or the Vanguard Armory.

I dunno about that. I got a class item from one chest, just like all of my friends did. I ended up getting a rare armor piece from another.

What does the bunny emblem do? I've had it for a long time and just wore it because I only had the one you start with anyway.

Emblems are purely cosmetic, they don't actually do anything.
