Ridiculous lag in the crucible matches
First of all let me start by saying it's probably not on my end, I don't have the best internet but I get pretty good speeds, and I play other games just fine. I am either experiencing terrible lag, or the hit detection is way off, all this started in the beta, I took all in stride, thinking well it's only a beta and this is the exact reason for the beta, to stress test their servers and iron out the kinks. But no, I am actually experiencing worse lag than with the beta, poor hit detection, it takes at least 5 headshots to kill anyone with the Scout rifles, the pulse rifles and hand cannons are all but useless for me, and the only usable weapon is the auto rifle, and I use over half a magazine to kill one person. Bungie what's going on? The crucible is all but unplayable. Is any body else experiencing this, or is it just me?

I'll have a string of matches where I get between a .09 - 3.0 KDR and then the next time I get on have a string of matches where I can do no better than .6, with the same weapons, same game mode. It's very obvious that lag is to blame, it feels like I'm about a half second behind everyone else. I'm in Chicago with a decent connection. Please fix Bungie.

Just got into a match where I would hit and should have killed a player but would be killed instead. Then at the end 15 kills that lag stoped all poped on to the scrolling list of kills and everything even my buddys thought it was strange. They need to fix the lag, its really pushing me away from playing the game at all. Im running 50mbps internet so thats not the problem it has to be something on Bungies side of things

One time ... I put a rocket in this Titan's mouth but he killed me with a shotgun blast. Several hours later, while he was playing with his children, the rocket magically appeared and went off killing all three of them. Now I'm sitting in jail for no good reason at all. I DIDN'T CREATE THE LAG DAMN IT!

Especially after unloading a full AR mag and melee 'em twice before damage registers. But only has occurred to one member of the opposing team. Watch out for "Sharky Gavin"... It is really disheartening when 3 of my team and I are focus firing on the laggy player, then get ganked by his non-laggy teammates.

I'm done with Destiny, at least for the time being. Goodluck guys, hope they fix the lag and the myriad of other problems this game has, can't say it's been fun, honestly this game has been a disappointment, maybe it's my fault, maybe I expected too much, someone drop a comment if Bungie ever fixes their game. I'm out.

2 RepliesGot the same problem, my k/d typically hovers between .9 and 2 from game to game. This weekend the lag was ridiculous. Literally every game I would struggle to get a 0.5 k/d. People not dying from a full clip of legendary AR to getting shot through walls. (Actually saw the sniper round come through the walls). Worst I've experienced in any game. Bring on Halo 2 in Nov. so I can get rid of this shit.

Get disconnected a lot. My latency isn't great in most games - I'm generally far from the host, geographically. There's definitely some lag in Crucible, but it's not nearly as bad as I'd expected.

i've only played a few matches but jesus in almost all of them at some point in the match i've ended up stuck repeatedly going round the same corner or through the same door or running in reverse . it usually happens for at least a minute out of each match . i got 40/10 internet so should run smooth as .

Shot a dude that was making a circular motion as if going around me (but he was in front of me) and his bullets took a fkn hard left towards me the whole time and killed me.

I have the same issue, I usually use about 3/4 of my clip, my sight is on them and everything. It gets annoying after awhile. Not only do I use up a lot of ammo but my supercharged is a bit delayed.

I find it mostly lags when i try to use explosives. I will get a solid hit on someone and I can see their health drop, but then it just goes right back up like i never hit them... This also happens a lot on strikes to. Maybe it's just my internet, or maybe it's SOMETHING BIGGER THEN LIFE ITSELF! XD

I also have games where I experience no lag, and I'll play really well. The kill points pop up instantly, melee kills drop foes without me dying as well, and sticky grenades actually stick and the opponent eventually dies, even after I was killed in the process. However, sometimes I'll encounter sessions where all I do is die. Nothing hits, and if I do, the kill points won't populate until at least 3 secs later. Players who were stuck would run away without taking dmg. Lol and sniping is impossible. This is my favorite fps PvP to date, and it would be awesome if this was something that could be fixed. When it works I love it, when it doesn't... It's entirety frustrating. I haven't lost faith yet, but the sooner it's fixed the better. :)

It's not your internet man. All of these issues are present and actively annoying the crap out of me. I can still top charts and win matches but my k/d bounces from 10 to 0.5 at times. I can't kill people at all at times. It feels as if I literally can't defend myself and taking corners is folly. I'm routinely killed after I'm a good 5 feet passed cover. Post mortem melee kills, bullets visually passing beside me are killing me and sometimes when I golden gun enemies they walk on not even noticing what happened.

Rarely I encounter some really serious lag. Generally things are fine though.

I'm not sure if i am getting connection to Aus players(im aus). I have a good kda, but wow is the lag bad. . . delayed kills. . . post mortem melees. . .

I know exactly how you feel... My internet isn't that bad and I can play most games online with little lag but on crucible, I walk into a room with two or three guys stabbing them all 2 or 3 times and I end up dying because of how laggy it is. I used a hunter knife super and stabbed one guy about 6 or 7 today and finally killed him... Fix the game bungie :/

For me it's the guys that walk away from my sticky grenade blowing up on their body. They have full health after, that just horrible. It not everyone, it's just certain players have that invincible mode. They go the whole game shrugging off damage.

The problem I usually see is I'll kill someone (the kill will register on the bottom left as well as the notification saying kill/points/method used) and somehow they're still shooting me and I usually die from this. It's quite annoying. Didn't encounter this during the beta in the crucible nor did I have to deal with it on launch day.

Just took me 25 min to connect to a match... game was working perfectly 2 days ago. Now past 2 nights, major lag issues and disconnects. Mainly on crucible but on rare occasions it happens during PvE. Crucible is unplayable atm for me.

It's lag some players are like in god mode . There health never went down . sniper someone 2 times in the chest they never died and there health never went down .its funny how some matches are running good and some are not .

1 ReplyShocking lag last night. The game was unplayable in The Crucible (PS4) which is a shame because I was just starting to enjoy the PvP. It really does feel like a netcode or server memory leak issue to me.

The lag is real. I got killed by a guy, only for me to kill him around [b]20[/b] seconds later. The tickrate is the source of the problem.
