FIX CENTIPEDE BUNGIE! !!!
I've had this same problem since the moment I downloaded the beta!!!! Haven't played a second, same thing happens every time:
- press x
-signs me into bungie server
-verifies content
-screen goes black and loadung icon appears in bottom right corner
-about 5 seconds later the centipede message appears.
I've tried all your networking solutions i can but since I'm on a university network i can't do much of them. I am plugged in through LAN though.
Is it possible to get a full refund since i already opened this game?!

1 ReplyWe are aware there are some players that are not having a quality experience getting or staying connected to Destiny, even after following the troubleshooting steps. 5 RepliesThere is nothing to fix. Bungie runs a peer to peer connection. Most universities block p2p. Your university isn't going to unblock the game just because a few thousand or hundred people want to play a video game. And I highly doubt that bungie is going to change their server type. Not really sure what is involved with that but it's probably quite troublesome.

Bungie this is getting down right stupid. Never had a problem the first week but now I can't play more than 15mins. The patch screwed something up.

Home user in California..same issue. Centipede after few minutes of gameplay. Someone from bungie needs to give an update for whether they know home users are having the issue as well and they are truly working on it to fix the problem. Couple of my friends have already returned the game...I might as well if this doesn't get fixed ASAP.

14 RepliesSame here. It's not only in Universities, I'm at home in Belgium and have a great internet connection. Never had a problem with any game before. Playing on Xbox One and if I look at my network stats my NAT Type is Open and every other test is positive. I've even followed the latest instructions they posted about Centipede and opend the Ports but no succes... Sometimes I get to play for a few minutes but no longer than 10. Weird because the Beta worked fine most of the time compared to the full version. It's so frustrating having to wait so long for the game to release and when it does... it doesn't even work most of the time. The moments I get to play the game are random but when it works it seems stable and most important I'm enjoying every second, untill Centipede shows up and kicks me back to the main menu. Please fix these problems ASAP so we get to enjoi your game and get what we paid for!

1 ReplyI'm having the same issue. University connection, centipede message before getting into the game. Not real happy about it, Bungie. Your game is the only one I have trouble with. No other multiplayer game has these types of restrictions, WTH is your issue? Fix this before it becomes a real problem for you. Do you even realize how many fans/gamers you have at colleges around the world? This is ridiculous.

Been in contact with the it department and tried a few changes but really nothing I can actually do since I have no access to the actual network system. So will just have to wait and see if bungie actually do anything about this issue that they have known about since the beta

Don't really have a clue of what to do next. I am not on a university, and I have Century Link internet. I can play the game for maybe 10 or 15 mins, next thing you know it pops up with an error saying "baboon" or "fly." After that the "centipede" error pops up. If bungie does not fix this somehow then they will have A LOT of unsatisfied consumers since the little time I am able to play the game it is amazing

2 RepliesI'm on a home connection, but constant baboon and centipede errors render the game an unplayable fraud. I have no intention of getting my ISP involved to change settings to allow this game to work. Nothing on the box says that is required. It just says internet connection. I have an internet connection and it works fine for every other game out there. Make your game work Bungie, that's your job, not mine. I have my own damn job to worry about.

I don't know who the heck bungie employees but I have seen better from people with home computers maybe they should think about firing staff and bringing in people that know wtf they are doing

F comcast, I was able to play last night. I am just wondering what bungie will do for those effected by this. I love the game and as a grad student I don't have a lot of time to game (or a lot of money to buy games either). Very sad to have spent 60 bucks for something I can't use whenever I want

3 RepliesIt's all about some closed ports. I had the same issue and call my provider. Now all ports are open and the geme run just fine. Bungie can't do anything about it.

1 ReplyApparently it's because Destiny uses a P2P connection instead of running through a server. Colleges block P2P in order to stop torrenting and things like that. The only work around I can think of is a VPN, but I have no idea how to run a PS4 through a VPN, especially while I'm using a public router. This isn't a new issue either, being that I've seen complaints about going all the way back to the Alpha, and it's something that should've been addressed a while ago. Even if I get a VPN working, it's ridiculous that I have to pay extra money to set up a special connection because they didn't set up the connection properly. I'm really disappointed about this.

1 ReplyYeah everyone on my thread Centipede University Connection Issue too. It seems to correlate to being in University servers and/or being near one. Also time warner could be a connecting issue.
