After installing the game twice and thoroughly testing my connection I have deduced that if you are getting the centipede error code like I am that Bungie has not adjusted for University hubs or server connection. No one on my floor can play and are getting the same error code. My brother is not at University and is getting the Cattle error. I'm not sure what is going on but I hope these issues are resolved as soon as possible because I'm already weary of this purchase. I love Bungie but mass server issues and error codes on the first night sends a bad message. Furthermore there is no support to assist. I will see what happens tomorrow but my guess is that these issues will not be fully resolved any time soon. It also seems odd that one specific code is designed for University hub/server errors. Who else are having these issues? What is happening elsewhere?

Edited by xKLKx: 9/11/2014 3:37:05 AMThis is so frustrating. Buying a new game you've been excited about for weeks only for it not to work, even a little bit, because of a problem evident since the alpha. Then to have zero information about if it can or will be fixed. All while the developer belittles the problem and blames it on the user. So much good will I had toward bungie has all but evaporated.

Edited by Gabe: 9/10/2014 11:36:04 PMI just looked at my ITS Facebook page. This is what they just posted.
We just received word from our Networking department. We hope to have things working sometime Tuesday.
I'm guessing I won't play till next week. v.v

Kennesaw State. I am not getting Centipede but marionberry now. Any ideas why?
-
If Bungie could maybe email me at zlafoon123@gmail.com, it would help to maybe resolve the centipede error here. I have not heard any updates for Samford. Hope to hear soon!

All TTU students! Talk to the IT dept, they're sending techs to our dorms to do something with the connection to let us bypass the P2P block
-
Anyone have an update for University at Buffalo?
-
Looks Like SUNY Cobleskill IT Is Not Cooperating :( Guess We Won't Be Playing, Good Luck To Everyone Else.
-
UPDATE TO TTU: From IT: We have not yet received an update from the networking team. We will send a note just as soon as we do. We apologize for the delay but further troubleshooting is needed as the required ports may not be the issue as was first reported. —Information Technology Services

This is what happen when a game requires specific NAT and port settings specifically for itself!

I'm in PA at York college of Pennsylvania and have been having error messages that range from centipede to badger to flatworm. I was able to play last night with disconnects that ranged from every 10 mins to 45 min stretches. I have not yet contacted my IT department, i will most likely do that tomorrow but I am not to hopeful that they will be willing to solve this issue on their end. Just thought i'd make my tiny voice heard here and maybe just let it be known that if Bungie could find anyway to fix this, then i would be more then happy!
-
so is bungie going to release a patch for this or am I just screwed to forever nothingness because my college won't do anything to fix the issue
-
Seems like University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will not be playing Destiny anytime in the near future or ever.
-
I am at the University of Connecticut and I officially hate centipede's. The bug, the word, anything little with a shit ton of legs. Thank you Bungie, I love you as a company too much to actually hate you, but it would be SO appreciated if this problem were to be fixed soon. I have so many friends that I want to play with, but can't because of this error. If I can play 64 person Battlefield 4, WoW, and Boarderlands, I should be able to play Destiny. I just want to sit down in my Destiny shirt, with my Destiny poster, and play Destiny. All night, I promise ill still go to class if thats what you are worried about!

I'm no longer getting centipede, but now I'm getting chicken. If I'm remembering correctly from this thread yesterday, that's small step forward, right?
-
Has anyone from TN Tech been able to get past the title screen? I havent even hit the character customization yet.
-
Wright State University (Dayton, Oh) is still down. Have not noticed any progress
-
Kennesaw State University still not seeing any changes.
-
Still getting centipede at Kent State. I hope something is going on to fix this problem. Haven't heard anything from IT since this morning

Edited by Christian K: 9/10/2014 11:48:26 PMEveryone, if any of your colleges/universities use a Procera PacketLogic device, please alert your IT department that Destiny is being miscategorized as "encrypted BitTorrent". Procera is aware of the issue and should have a fix coming very soon. Even if you don't know what your campus uses to filter/block traffic it is worth alerting them of this.
-
So has UCONN figured out the problem?
-
TnTech, still under centipede watch, It has been nearly 24 hours. the pain, the suffering, must resist.
-
Edited by Christian K: 9/11/2014 12:08:19 AMI can confirm that making an exception for encrypted BitTorrent on Procera devices fixes the problem and students are able to connect and create a character. This also allows actual encrypted BitTorrent traffic too, so although this works I would wait for a permanent fix from the programmers.

Please, what do i do? Indiana isn't under the list of states effected by this. What do I do? PLEASE respond!!

I just talk to the ITS help desk at my school at CSULA and they said they were gonna work on it. That my PS4 might require an extra port, so if they open it, I might be able to play. Let's hope for the best. I'll keep you guys posted (:
