After installing the game twice and thoroughly testing my connection I have deduced that if you are getting the centipede error code like I am that Bungie has not adjusted for University hubs or server connection. No one on my floor can play and are getting the same error code. My brother is not at University and is getting the Cattle error. I'm not sure what is going on but I hope these issues are resolved as soon as possible because I'm already weary of this purchase. I love Bungie but mass server issues and error codes on the first night sends a bad message. Furthermore there is no support to assist. I will see what happens tomorrow but my guess is that these issues will not be fully resolved any time soon. It also seems odd that one specific code is designed for University hub/server errors. Who else are having these issues? What is happening elsewhere?

So I just got an email back from the IT people literally, JUST Now. Here's what they sent me:
We're still not 100% sure, but we believe that the traffic looks like peer-to-peer traffic and our policy at the university is to block peer-to-peer traffic. What took so long to find that was our Bandwidth Manager has a bug that we believe is also causing certain traffic not to show up in our reports. So when we initially were troubleshooting, we never saw the traffic being classified as peer-to-peer or being dropped. It was only when we decided to take a shot in the dark and disable the peer-to-peer rule that we were able to get the traffic working again. I'm still not sure which peer-to-peer protocol it was being classified as. If anyone needed to troubleshoot, I'd say they should start looking at their rules that manage peer-to-peer traffic.
North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro, NC. What is the email for bungie. I have the email for our network admin to give to them to see if they could convince them to let us through. Thanks.
-
Sadly there's not much bungie can do. Maybe the IT guys could help, considering it's the college's network blocking you.

Edited by Zilphy: 9/10/2014 7:43:29 PMI am from the University at Buffalo, I have not gotten the game yet however my roommate has been getting the dreaded centipede error. I happen to work for the IT Department here, and they are stubborn about these issues. However I would love to be a test subject for Bungie in getting this straightened out. I may even be able to work more closely with our IT Department here than others located here. Anyone else from UB, call the Help desk! Let them know your concerns!! EDIT: I now have the game

U at Buffalo still not working....

Edited by JSImmortals: 9/11/2014 9:40:52 PMAt Boston University it still is not working on Xbox One. Although I appreciate Bungie working to find a solution!

I am currently at SUNY Cobleskill in NY and I have been getting nothing but the centipede error code, i really hope that bungie can get their heads out of their asses and fix this server issue that literally almost all college campuses are having! I can't believe that Acvtivision isn't saying anything to Bungie!
