Edit: I was right
Not more than 16 hours after Raids have been released, they're already beaten
https://mobile.twitter.com/Bungie/status/511972115776425984
Streamer house beat it in two hours :P
I have yet to play the raids but I'll update this again when I do
Can't wait to see everyone's reactions when they beat the raids in an hour
Honesty it's not that hard
It's just point and shoot
I literally can't find another thing raids would have so unless you suck at pointing and shooting, you're set
I mean 7 hours for a raid?
Really?
We all know that's not going to happen
I doubt it's take 1:3O hours
2 at the most
Remember the Strikes?
How big of a deal that use to be?
And then everyone came in and beat it in 3O minutes
It's pathetic seeing these threads on how big of a deal raids are
And even if they are somehow 7 hours, what the -blam!- is the point of shooting stuff for 7 hours
Throw in a couple puzzles like that disappearing platform thing in the trailer and put in different enemies but in the end, it's the same
No one wants to spend the majority of 7 hours just shooting at stuff
It gets boring and repetitive
Plus
The only way that it's going to be that hard is to make the bosses almost unkillable and that's not good for the sake of difficulty
Just making you out more bullets into enemies doesn't equal more fun
Is rather have a shorter more fun raid than a long drawn out one
Bungie even said in the weekly update that the time that it took the clans to finish the raids were exaggerated
I have no doubt it'd be fun but I just wish Bungie would stop hyping up parts of their game
Just give it to us face value

Well, you bring up some points, but at this point, there is no raid, you are just talking about a slightly extended strike with a few more people. I can see them very easily extending the raid to around 7 hours, I mean, though the comparison to MMO's is getting a little old, Final Fantasy 14 ARR uses a very similar checkpoint system for its raids, and while theoretically it could be cleared it about 3 hours, every time they add 4 new segments it takes weeks for any group, that is including the super hardcore players, to get the mechanics down well enough to actually beat the final segment, and usually only by the skin of their teeth. Also, the checkpoint system probably means the entire "raid" itself is going to be broken down into multiple segments, each of them offering a potential loot drop. Just pulling things outta my butt here, but if they have 7 different segments, each of them taking about an hour to clear... We could easily be seeing a very approachable raid system that takes a bit of time. Honestly will probably be more like 4 segments each taking around an hour. And that is after a group gets its groove on and learns how to deal with the bosses, which I am hoping will take awhile. I am excited to see what they are going to do with the boss mechanics, a freemoving shooter presents alot of ways to create interesting boss mechanics, the possibilities nearly endless and will be a great deal of fun figuring them out and killing the boss. That being said, its probably going to get a bit frustrating, they have already stated they expect people to die in the raids.. alot..but without a significant challenge, the rewards mean nothing. As for the bosses difficulty... maybe on normal difficulty it won't be so bad, but on hard I'm hoping that its designed to be extremely hard to beat. Why? Because if I play and get invested in it, then can breeze through everything without breaking a sweat? I'm going to be looking for a new game to play damn quick.
