With all due respect...Destiny is not a COD killer. This is coming from a card-carrying COD hater (and I wear my badge proudly too), no FPS game will kill Call Of Duty, because to paraphrase Vince McMahon, "Destiny didn't screw COD, COD screwed COD." In Activision's longstanding tradition, they took a good franchise and milked it dry, to the point that the only people left interested are the true diehards who will buy the game year after year no matter how little they differ from one another. On a separate note, I'm happy Destiny is only a 10 year commitment between Bungie & Activision-which in terms of game development is relatively short a span of time when you consider it took 5 years to make Destiny itself, because that means there's no chance of the same being done to this franchise as well. Once it's done...it's truly done.

  • That... isn't how contracts work. If Destiny as a franchise succeeds, and Bungie is willing and able to make more, you better believe Activision is gonna have them making more.

  • Actually...that is how contracts work. Bungie does what they are contracted to do, not what Activision tells them. They're not Infinity Ward who are actually owned by AV, they are working with them to publish this game. Activision doesn't dictate the release of info or content, Bungie does. They broke away from Microsoft because they didn't want to be handcuffed anymore, what makes you think they'd do business with another company that would do the same? Please go look up details before you make foolish predictions.

Yes. That is correct. But you are reading the wrong things into my post and completely ignoring my point which was about your alleged "once it's done... it's truly done" well no, because if it's "done" before the contract is up they still have to work on more anyway, and if they want to do more after the contract is up they just... get another contract.
