How big of a deal that use to be?
And then everyone came in and beat it in 3O minutes
It's pathetic seeing these threads on how big of a deal raids are
And even if they are somehow 7 hours, what the -blam!- is the point of shooting stuff for 7 hours
Throw in a couple puzzles like that disappearing platform thing in the trailer and put in different enemies but in the end, it's the same
No one wants to spend the majority of 7 hours just shooting at stuff
It gets boring and repetitive
Plus
The only way that it's going to be that hard is to make the bosses almost unkillable and that's not good for the sake of difficulty
Just making you out more bullets into enemies doesn't equal more fun
Is rather have a shorter more fun raid than a long drawn out one
Bungie even said in the weekly update that the time that it took the clans to finish the raids were exaggerated
I have no doubt it'd be fun but I just wish Bungie would stop hyping up parts of their game
Just give it to us face value

3 RepliesYou could just be trolling, but I'll bite. Raids aren't just shooting and fighting, those are Strikes. Raids have puzzles and challenges that guns alone can't succeed at. Raids also don't take as crazy of an amount of time as we'd previously thought. You can start and stop them as was said in a previous mail sack. The "16 Hour Raid) was the collective time, not the time spent in the Raid (link above). If you're good, I bet you could bet it in 1-2 hours.

13 RepliesEdited by Pellmell54: 9/5/2014 8:07:15 AMAnd there are plenty of ways to mix up mechanics here, Like for certain moves the only way to survive is to deploy a ward of dawn and get everyone to hide behind it. Needing to stagger by using a super attack in order to damage, areas of the map that become damage dealing/get destroyed, weak points that need to be targeted, needing to expose certain areas by drawing aggro to the side so your teammates can get at it, exploding mines that get thrown at you that need to be shot out of the air.. These are some basic things I can think of off the top of my head, I'm hoping that Bungie has thought of even more creative things over the past 3 or so years of developing this game, and am looking forward to seeing raids throwing us some nasty surprises

The reality is that when I was 16 if someone who was 36 (my current age) tried to tell me that my views are the way they are because of my age I probably would have called them an idiot etc. but none the less the fact remains that your views on this topic are funny because of your age. Here goes: you were 2 or 3 years old when halo came out and maybe 9 when halo 3 came out. Far too young to have the patience to enjoy playing the game through the campaign from start to finish in one sitting with your best mates. You're also far to young to know that if you loved the coop element of halo that there was nothing on the xbox that was as good as it was for a whole decade. Which would make you too young to know that there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands of gamers out there who played any of the halo games from start to finish in one hit, over a 6-9 hour period depending on difficulty level. And we did this most weekends because it was so damn fun. For you kids to assume that people do not like playing the same "mission" for 7 hours is funny. There are millions of gamers who love playing like that with their mates. If bungie say it takes 7 hours, someone like you will most likely never finish it because you seem to have a very low attention span. Thinking that playing a game for that long is boring is your opinion. There are plenty of things to do in destiny that only take half an hour. The Raids are one thing that will take a lot longer than that. Thinking you'll beat it in an hour is a joke. 8 RepliesIt's funny how you know it all. Maybe Bungie should hire you because after making all those amazing games they have no clue about how to make it fun and difficult. I will not comment on your age like others did but your post shows that you are not mature enough to play a game like that. You judge it before it is released, you already know what will be fun and what will be boring. You'll be one of the first who will check out walkthroughs and guides on how to finish a raid because you'll get frustrated over the easy point and shoot

You do realize you can do those 7 hours all in a week, just as long as you finish before the maintenance time (Tuesdays says bungie)

1 ReplySo much negativity in the comments. All I can say in response is that you cannot know how hard it is going to be. That section of the game hasn't been played yet. The most we have seen is the beta. I'll wait to judge it when I do it, in game. Personally, I hope it does take longer than an hour. Also, I think they are broken in to sections. Making them last longer, to do over a week.

And B) the raids where nerfed for the newbs that complained they where to hard. Destiny is not a MMO though some aspects of it do resemble an MMO the raids may very well take 7 hours to complete but probably only until you find the best way to get through them quickly the true challenge as far as I see remains the Vaults.
