quoted from deej himself. is he threatening my life or something?
if not, can we please dispense with all the dopey pr stuff? it's great they have ambition, but there's no way this game will deliver on half this nonsense. it's becoming less of a tangible and more of a "feeling" passing into the ether. the only way this game has any chance to live up to this kind of hype is if it turns into jesus christ himself.

This comment of DeeJ's was a little overboard. What he should have said was that Destiny has multiplayer which could provide endless hours of entertainment to players. His claim - that Destiny never ends because it has online multiplayer - is about as meaningless as bragging that your game is bigger than Halo. Please don't confuse the previous in any way as slandering Destiny. The game might very well be the only one I play for the next year. But they're making some pretty silly PR gaffs after a really well-managed campaign.
-
To some extent, I agree. The phrases they keep throwing out are a bit ridiculous. Adding hype to a game is great, but it's also that same hype that creates false hope and makes people complain about features, or lack thereof. I think Destiny will be great. I will probably play it for a couple years and will play any DLC and sequels that come out. But you're right, the dopey PR stuff is getting a bit old.

Yeah, sometimes I can't stand listening to their PR phrases in interviews. It just gets so repetitive: "This is the biggest game we've ever built" "Our Raids are the most difficult experience you've ever played in a Bungie game" I get it, you're proud of what you made. It's fine to want other people to know that, but maybe get some new lines to throw at us every once in a while.
-
its plausible. From experience in other MMOs storyline gets put in the back burner when youre high enough to start doing endgame content, though i suppose you still do some story their but only the first time. I know on WOW ill never beat all the Heroic raids, and have not completed all of the normal ones. Its not that youre going to miss out, rather more like feats you try to accomplish.

People are going to realize after they play the game a little that the hype was nothing and this is just a generic fps shooter with aliens and vehicles.

This makes me think there's alot of grinding in the game.
-
I'm gonna smash it!! ;)
-
well, he's saying it like if you were playing Skyrim: technically, you can never finish the game because of repeatable missions and the little places off the beaten path (non-scenario caves and whatnot).
-
Kinda like how you could never beat Skyrim because certain quests would just keep repeating themselves.
-
I think he means that in the same way you can't finish Skyrim with its radiant quests. Also known as vague recycled slightly different quests. "Hey its us again. We need another 20 spin metal." *facepalm*

Edited by Skratti: 8/29/2014 5:21:54 AMDeej will come for you while you are sleeping. He will whisper in your ear 'You will never finish Destiny.' And then something else happens.
Love this post.
Maybe this was directed to those who can't find 5 other players.....................
-
You may never complete the Vault of Glass in hard mode is what he meant. It may be too hard for you.

Hes right. I will not support destiny for the fact that i buy the game, meaning i have access to 100% of it. With they way bungie is excluding most ppl from raids and if this dose not change bungie will not see my money again in any game ever. I did not pay for 80% of destiny i payed for 100% of it. Lets see how it turns out. Its a shame more ppl do not stand up to this kind of exclusion. You guys have to wake up the facts that bungie and activision are taking your money and not giving what you payed for!
-
Ha thats what she said! Now inhave 3 kids ~__~
-
Well technically you wont because to finish Destiny is to find, use, explore EVERYTHING. I highly doubt you will get every gun the game has to offer at their own respectable levels. You'd need at least 20 characters.
-
I thought his reasoning for never finishing it was nonsense. He said there will always be new people for you to save in pve or kill in pvp. By those standards yea NOBODY ever completely finishes a game. Listen Deej, once all the content has been run through the game is complete. I will still play it of course but let's not play word games and be misleading.

I WILL

You're putting a lot of credence in jesus christ. .. a malnourished pacifist getting incredibly impressionable and uneducated people to follow him.... I'm not impressed. .. a bum will follow food and this asshole offered bread and fish. ... cool story bro....
sorry, I couldn't keep a straight face during this.. lol
