One thing I did not enjoy about the alpha and beta builds was the sense of isolation and loneliness I felt. Usually I only saw 3 or for people in old Russia. Since Destiny is going to be a FPS MMO, I think it should do a better job of living up to the MMO aspect. Each instance and server should be able to have a 77 player capacity. That way I will feel like I am playing with a community and it will make public events feel like a big battle or that I am exploring Bungie's world with an army of guardians.

talks like Esmeralda "No... No" shakes head the max I would allow is like 12 or 16and those are random players that are just in the map with you that's quite vast in its self :O

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
-
Would actually be cool if there were like big battle maps with colossal bosses made for 77 people
-
-
I agree with you in the sense that there should be a few more players in the field. Or at least keep a consistent amount instead people disappearing like they did in my Beta experience. My only questions are why the #77 out of all numbers and isn't that a bit much per area?
-
Bungie talked up the whole MMO aspect ... but it is far from being an MMO. Even from the story POV it falls flat ... why would humanity cluster together and then venture out alone (or in random groups of 3) to fight its final battles. There whole connection to any story is lost.
-
The amount of players should be 69 at the most
-
Maybe you were playing at a less popular time? While I didn't see 77 people, I definitely saw 10-15 players throughout my free roam sessions and about that many in the raid. Of course, maybe I just kept seeing the same people!...lol...but seriously I did think I saw more than 3 or 4. However, I can see what you are saying as there is definitely a sense of isolation. In the community sense I hear ya, but going through many of the campaign portions the isolation can add to the ambience. I say that, but I do realize thinking back that I played the raid and more community oriented parts of the game more than anything else.

Lol I'm surprised at the amount of ppl that don't know how much of troll this guy is already

Hello again Mr. Longface I actually agree on it feeling empty at times, but to keep the game even slightly challenging they would have to add 777 enemies aswell. So that makes 854 characters on screen at once. I´m not sure that would be a good idea. And if your previous idea that everyone has to use a mic was realized, well... i can only imagine. lol

Edited by Chryspii: 8/29/2014 8:43:24 AMI'd prefer if my xbox 360 stayed... Not on fire, for lack of better words...
-
We might as well make it 777 while we're here.

Edited by Krutik: 8/30/2014 1:24:32 AMImagine all the f*ckin lag we would have. 77 people? You kidding me? This is on console, remember? You can't just put 77 people in one server, it's just gonna cause major issues and the kids would be crying their as*es off to bungie because of lag. Yes it is like an MMO but Bungie never intended it to be.
-
Bungie already went in on this. They want you to feel like you are one of the few guardians that will save the world. If there are 76 other guardians running side by side through Old Russia, then you wouldn't get this feeling of isolation and extinction that has come to the world.
-
Yea ok Voldemort, I know 7 is the most magical number but you still aint funny
-
It's not an MMO though. It just uses MMO elements. It's an instanced shooter and has always meant to be. Just look at early builds from E3 2013.
-
It's not an MMO. Its a shared world shooter. Also, while I love your enthusiasm for the sacred Bungie number "7", it would have to be 78 so you can have 26 full fire teams.

I say we should have 78.
77 per server would be even less people per instance anyway. There are thousands on a server and like 20 per map instance
-
so at the busiest point of the beta wouldnt that mean that there were 11,169 concurrent server instances??????? Now im not much of a networks / servers guys but that seems pretty ... well.. ridiculous !!

There's a very interesting topic I created in the Feedback section of these forums. It is about Player Count. A lot of good conversation going on, not a lot of flaming or trolling so feel free to stop by and give your two cents about it. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/68297121/0/0

But it's not an FPSMMO. It's a "shared world shooter".
-
What do you do all day, long face?
-
I think a little more than 3 would be cool maybe like 7, but not 77
-
i noticed the same, but i'm wondering if it's due what system you were on or maybe something else. beta is different. they should have sufficient about of servers and bandwidth. load testing is what they were doing besides other things like ensuring there is not so much buggy code. i am confident we'll be fine.

While 3-5 is too little, 77 is too much. At most I sincerely believe the max player per area should be 10
