The tower allows 16 players at once in total, so does sony's party chat i think but of those 16 players your fireteam(party) cant be bigger than 6. So is not like i can be party chatting and run into you in the game, thats what sucks.

My mistake.

Well that's only partially true is mixture of party size in different aspects of the game. I dont know if you are familiar with the game from playing the Beta but the way the "open areas" of the game work is that they have a cap of 16 players. Say you are exploring the earth that earth can only have 16 players at any given time so... even if you want to join your team, if you try to join them it will say their "world" is full and if you try to go to the earth on your own, you'll end up going to another "earth" with other 15 players and yourself. But that's not the only problem, not only do they create this virtual servers for each area of the game... they don't allow you to group up with more than 6 people. So you can have a full group of 16 people shooting at the same monster but they dont want to make it so you can join with 16 people you know, it has to be 6 friends and 10 randoms... that seems to be their magic number. I just wish Bungie would say anything about this topic.
