The logo is actually shaped like the face of a wolf. Wolves show up a ton in this game. I will provide a link to a video explaining this if I can.

  • It may indeed be designed to look similar to a wolf, but Bungie calls the symbol the "tricorn" which is what the three-pointed hats explorers wore were called. Here's the link for Bungie's style guide where they refer to it as a tricorn. [urlhttp://www.bungie.net/en/AboutUs#!page=styleguide][/url]

  • Hmmm, I know about the hat, it's also the same one that the British navy wore. I will link you to the video though, its very interesting. http://youtu.be/caATqEGvjzU

Of course, but you cant deny the amount of wolf references and symbology found in the game. An entire freaking trailer was about "The Law of the Jungle", a poem about a basic phenomenon in nature that encourages wolves to stay together. Personally, I like it. The idea of having the option to be a lone wolf, or part of a pack. It's actually very representative of the community, there are people that choose to go alone, and people who choose to stay with others. And they always meet on the battle field, that's when you see this happen the most. Say three people are guarding A, and they are in a fire-team. They talk to each other, they help each other, but a lone player from the other team shows up, with heavy ammo. They don't have to worry about the pack, they have nothing to lose. They kill two of the other players before going down themselves, but it was worth it. Now he knows that the pack is broken, and the point is just a few bullets away. cant wait to see how this pack dynamic plays out in the game, or in the crucible at least.

  • "Symbology? Now that Duffy has relinquished his King Bonehead crown, I see we have an heir to the thrown. I'm sure the word you were looking for was 'symbolism'. What is the ssssssymbolism there?"

  • That's two sound theories in one day, neither of which deal with abnormally sized men. Kind of makes me feel like Riverdancing.

Sorry, I was typing fast, and I was doing other things while I was writing that, symbolism. The "Law of the Jungle" trailer, the many silhouettes of guardians on the moon, almost like a wolf howling to the sky. There are others, I will have to watch the vid again to find them.

  • Haha, it's just a quote from Boondock Saints. Your use of "symbology" reminded me of it.

  • I guess so, the resemblance and the other references suggest it is a wolf though.
