Destiny's "hype train" is now coming to an end, so i ask what does that mean for the future of the game. Future being the key word here remember that, allow me to be more specific on the whole future thing *clears throat* what i mean by "future" is expansions or sequels, is destiny going to have a WoW like model or be more like past bungie game's. Honestly i think it will be a mix of both expansions and sequels, i'm thinking like 4 expansions and then the sequel but i may be wrong, what do you think and more to the point which one do you want

Bungie already talked about this some time ago, things may have changed. However, if memory serves there are going to be 3 core games, ie Destiny and 2 full sequels, coming out with a major expansion in between each release. With a sprinkle of smaller DLC content to tide us over here and there. Think of it like a book series. The games are like books, each a complete story with a distinct beginning and end, that also tell the larger over arching story of the series as a whole. The expansions are like a side story that comes out to fill in some of the blanks and keep readers interested while the next book is being written. Something like that, or at least that's the last I've heard on it. Although given the goal of a 10 year series, this mixed release strategy has the best chance of carrying the series to the end.

I wish they'd just do expansions. I don't like the sound of "Destiny 2." I suppose they could give it a new name and call it the "Saga of the Traveller" series or something but I don't think I like that, either.

They said they are going to have four games in the series

A few expansions, then a sequel 2 years from now.
