Its because its a role playing game your guardian does not have to to be a spitting image of you maybe people like the smaller build because the want a ninja character
Others because the just want too why do males choose a male character do you like looking at a man constantly? I don't that's why I choose a female they are more appealing to me and my play style. And I don't think people should be called names based upon there play style. Rant over

Or maybe it's because I like to pretend that I'll be kidnapped by a fallen captain and he'll make me his wife.

Edited by slackerboi: 8/26/2014 4:53:06 AMI understand the whole role-playing concept of a smaller build for a ninja style or something similar. However, you're never constantly looking at a male or female character (unless you're in the tower) since it's a 1st person shooter; You're only going to see hands and feet. It doesn't bother me that much, but I do wonder why guys will make that choice. You're in my opinion sounds fine, but not all players have honest reasons like you when they do that.
-
I like your answer my fellow guardian
-
I know some people do, do it for the role playing / more agile looking character thing. But to tell you the truth most people do it cause most games these days have jiggle physics.
-
Read the title, not the post yet, and all is can say is Dat Ass
-
I will pick a female human hunter because what's better than a badass woman who kicks ass as an assassin
-
Sex. That is all.

Edited by CrashBang_XD: 8/26/2014 6:39:06 AMWhile I completely support your decision to make your character look however the -blam!- you want (regardless of size, gender or race) I do however think your a complete douche. The fact that you antagonise by stating "do you like looking at males constantly" makes you go from a nice guy explaining why he makes his decision to a complete homophobic dick that is trying to make everyone else look gay. Now onto point number 2. You are a douche because you put this in #Destiny, destiny is a first person shooter, the only time you actually see your avatar is during a super, their hands while holding a guy and in the tower. Please explain why this means I'll be looking at a man constantly? All in all, -blam!- this post off to #gaming and #whininglikeabitch

Girls who have played video games for a while have most likely played as a guy in more games than one. It's only recently that it has become a normal choice because the gamer population has way more girls than a decade ago. Playing as a big buff Marcus Fenix doesn't mean you want to be him in real life, lol, but it's fun to kick butts as Fenix. Same applies for guys playing as Lara Croft i suppose. It's all fantasy, playing as the Master Chief or female Shepard is a ton of fun, regardless of your gender ;)

It's a role playing game, you are the guardian, so in this case you are a girl, so my point is if you don't care we don't care, it's just stupid if you think about it properly.
-
Don't care either way. If I want to put myself in that characters shoes I normally create a male character ( like in ME), if I want to get a different point of view I create a female character, and usually I find most people friendlier and more willing to party up and do mission or a quest. Definitely don't need to worry about gear that much. So for a more social experience I definitely prefer making a female character. Because playing games with strangers is more laid back and enjoyable.
-
I won't forget a friend of mine's statement about this, he plays WoW a lot and said "I started making female characters because I got tired of looking at a dude's ass all day". Golden words.
-
Picking a male magical space robot is definitely closer to myself than a female human magical space warrior. Wait... The only pervs are the ones complaining about guys playing girls cos they are horny dogs who want to bother women in game. Get all upset and limp when my deep, manly voice comes over the mic XD
-
I don't know if you can call that a rant. It was more like one big run on sentence.
-
Reasons X choose to play as Y = They want to. /thread
-
I think of myself looking bad ass not sexually with an animated 3d model of my characters
-
Oh and I agree it's just a game lol be who you want
-
I just like to put myself in my characters shoes. And if those shoes happen to be knee length boots with a 4" heel then thats all the better, it really makes my legs pop.
-
You do know this is a FPS?
-
Edited by bmatt17: 8/26/2014 7:53:11 AMI play both, depends on the game. 3rd person RPG's I usually do prefer female characters just because the character models look better. Has nothing to do with looking at a pixelated ass as everyone always says. I'll be a male awoken warlock for Destiny. But femshep every single time. I was a female gnome with pink pigtails in WoW. Just because I thought it was awesome killing people (pvp server) with a pink pigtailed female gnome with daggers almost as tall as she was.
-
I prefer playing female chars in games despite being male... not really sure why, a part of it is that I can never get a male character to look the way I want him and even if I'm satisfied at creation I get annoyed by their looks pretty fast. I do have a penchant for small...ish women kicking ass though.. one of the reasons I love femshep

Females have a smaller hitbox
-
It really comes down to this. There are people who think of their characters as extensions of themselves and there are people who think of their characters as exactly that a character. If a man plays tomb raider is that strange? No because he is just playing a character. I dont think that I am the character I make. I think of them as independent creations. In closing if you just stop hitting on any digital females you come across this wouldn't be an issue.
-
The reason why I play as a chick, is because i'd rather stare at a chick, NOT A GUY, for 100+ hours... which is how long I played the beta.
-
Hey, for sure, don't say "do you like looking at a man constantly?". Maybe somebody does, so what? If you want to pick a female character, cool. But you don't have to be an Apex A-hole about it.
