Inevitable console upgrade...what do I choose?
So I'm currently an xbox 360 player. I know that one day, probably nearer to Christmas time, I will be upgrading to a next gen console. I've had my heart set on the PS4 for some time but now, due to Destiny, I've had my head turned towards the Xbone only because of the ability to transfer my Destiny account from 360 to Xbone.
I know the first DLC in December will be for all consoles but after that I'm pretty sure they'll only be available for next gen.
So here's my question. Do I opt for the Xbone for the ability to transfer or do I go for the PS4 and start all over again but enjoy the bonus of timed exclusives?

I'm sticking to xbox because it's what I know and all my friends are on it, only reason I'd ever switch to ps4 is if I was really desperate for the destiny exclusive content. Ps controller sucks, their security sucks because it's free except for ps4 which still isn't as secure people can get your info easy as hell. It's honestly whatever you feel, I'm sure you've gotten the childish PS4 elitist link reply which most of the links are outdated anyway so I would go by that. All the "social" features in xbone doesn't make it less efficient just cool to have. Ps4 dash is garbage compared to the xbone and it also gets hotter faster. I'm gonna take alot of heat but I don't care xbone and ps4 are good systems for their communities and each one has it's flaws and perks pick what you want, of you've been with xbox awhile then stick to it.

PS4 has more vareity and their 1st party studios are nothing to sneeze at,those dudes always bring it. This isn't an opinion either

I was pondering on getting a PS4 for the holidays, but I retracted that thought and replaced it with the Wii U. Reason being, the Playstation is not the console for me. It'd be a waste of my money. I'm an Xbox guy. Some of my friends that have a 360 and got the PS4 are regretting being swayed over. Go with what's familiar. Plus...Halo, lol.

2 RepliesPS4 is more powerful so a lot of games are going to be better on it. We're talking either better framerate (Tomb Raider), higher resolution (Cod, BF), more effects (MGSGZ), or any mixture of the three. It's not a MASSIVE advantage, but it does exist, and it will be that way for however long this gen lasts. Just like how most multiplats ran better on the 360, this time they will run better on the PS4. Look at the number of exclusives Sony put out over the last year for the PS3. God of War, Gran Turismo, Beyond, Sly Cooper, Puppeteer, Rain, MLB The Show, The Last of Us, plus all the Japanese exclusives that exist simply because the fanbase for those games is on Playstation. Ni No Kuni, Tales of Xillia, Disgaea, Dragons Crown, ect. Sony supports their consoles WELL into the generation, and because of the amount of first party developers they have, there will be a ton of exclusives. They aren't afraid of making new IP's either, even if its at then end of the generation (Hi, Last of Us) PS3 had a ton of good stuff at the end. Compare this to MS which was centered on 4 IP's and then kind of switched focus to kinect the last few years. I think Gears Judgement was the only big game that came out for 360 last year. Right now the libraries are at least arguably equal, but look ahead 4-5 years and ask yourself if you really think X1 will have as many exclusives or as diverse a library as PS4. In addition to all this, is how the companies themselves act and how each of them impact the industry with their policies. I don't feel like writing a novel, but it's a pretty large reason why a lot of Xbox fans including two friends of mine went over to Playstation and why the PS4 is outselling the X1. Some will just write this off as me being a "fanboy". However nothing I said is really opinion besides looking at the future, but to figure that out just look at the past gens and see for yourself who always has the largest and most diverse library. This isn't to perperuate the hostilities here or upset anyone, but I just hate seeing people say "they are totally the same". No they aren't. The consoles, the developers, and the companies behind them are different. I'm just giving MY honest opinion. Make your own choice.

I believe the PS4 is better and that you should go with it. I am very confident you will enjoy Destiny a lot on PS4 and all that the PlayStation Nation has to offer.

Go with the one it just seems to come with more in the console. I'm getting an xbox one it just has more to offer for me. Depends for you I'd say look up what they come with in the console and make your choice by what it offers you

Ps4 I think has the better exclusives and has the better power. It also has the best looks and is smaller. The Xbox one looks like a big old cable box.

Well, do your friends have Bones or PS4s? I think you should prioritize from that, if we're thinking Destiny-wise. And the most important part about consoles these days are the exclusives. Do you have must-gets on either side?

My reason is not the console itself as they both hold similar features with a [i]very[/i] slight edge to the PS4, but rather the ethics of the companies behind them. If you watched Microsoft's E3 a year or two ago, looked at the original list of things the XBone was being forced to do (Things like no used games, Kinect always on, a few more things designed to test just how much of an idiot the consumer is and what MS can get away with.) Then you know as well as I that Sony may be greedy, but not to the point of punishing the consumer for buying their product. Even with EA Games new subscription system, sure it competes with Sony's so that's probably a big reason for them denying it, but it was also a drastically worse deal in comparison to Sony's service.
