So I'm currently an xbox 360 player. I know that one day, probably nearer to Christmas time, I will be upgrading to a next gen console. I've had my heart set on the PS4 for some time but now, due to Destiny, I've had my head turned towards the Xbone only because of the ability to transfer my Destiny account from 360 to Xbone.
I know the first DLC in December will be for all consoles but after that I'm pretty sure they'll only be available for next gen.
So here's my question. Do I opt for the Xbone for the ability to transfer or do I go for the PS4 and start all over again but enjoy the bonus of timed exclusives?

I'm on 360 too my friend join me in my upgrade to ps4

Since you'll be on Xbox 360 for a while after launch I'd say go to Xbox one, they're not too terribly different from ps4 anyway. That's just my opinion I've never been overly stuck on one console or another. Really just figure out which one has the games you like more, know there's only a few out right now right now but they'd the best advice I can give. Do it for the games since they're both great consoles.

If your friends switched to Xbone, then Xbone.

I am not console loyal and I happily jump between console manufacturers each generation based on who has the exclusive games that I want. Last generation I had a 360 and was very happy with it, this generation I ended up going with a PS4 and I am very happy with my decision. I listed below some of the reasons that led me to Sony this generation, maybe they will help you make a decision. 1. I own a gaming PC, so if a game comes out on consoles and PC, I buy it on PC. Most of the XO exclusive games are coming out on PC making the games I would play on it far and few between. 2. PS4 has more exclusive games that I am interested in that are not available on PC. (Infamous Second Son, Deep Down, Rime, MLB The Show, The Last of Us, The Order, BloodBorne, etc.) 3. Indie support seems to be better on the PS4 and I love me some indie games. 4.. Destiny Alpha, beta and timed exclusive content. 5. Sony is pretty far ahead this generation in terms of console sales, which usually means developers will make that the main focus for development. 6. Microsoft seems more interested in focusing on multimedia and has lost its focus on video games. All that said I voted PS4 on your poll, either console would be a great choice but this generation I would suggest going with the PS4.

That depends.. Are you retarded or not?

That's a hard choice considering the data transfer. I too had a 360, and bought bf4 + premium and spent so much time on it. However I was set on the PS4 till I thought about the transfer. But in the end (I know you've heard this alot) its about: Your friends and games you want on it. I ended up going with a PS4 and haven't regretted it. Now, I've never played an xbox one, but either way, you'll be happy :)

Make a pros and cons list, they're always fun

I personally like xbox better but ps4 gets better perks for destiny. I think ps4 is better but I'm a loyal xbox gamer so ya

If you really like Destiny that much it would make perfect sense to upgrade to the PS4. I upgraded from the 360 to the One for Advance Warfare, Unity, and Sunset Overdrive because I am passionate about those games. I am passionate about Destiny too, however. I just didn't know it was available on Microsoft's consoles until after I purchased my Xbox One. Sony did an excellent job making it appear to be a PlayStation exclusive.

XBO. Get the MCC as well.

Star Lord? Never heard of you... : ) I wouldn't buy a console just for timed exclusives if I were you. Had Destiny been a PS exclusive then yea, totally different argument. I would stick with your friends list and carry the characters over if I were you. Key word is "timed", box will end up getting that DLC too. Up to you though, in the end they both play games.. and you are a gamer, right?

PSN always gets hacked. That's a risk that all your info could be stolen if you keep a credit card on there or have your account deleted

It depends on the games. Don't bother with what system specs either of them are because it's just gonna hold you back even more. Go through each game library and upcoming games. Think about what fits your gaming needs more. If you're like me, then you can't WAIT to not only play Destiny, but the games that gave the spark, Halo. But if you're wanting the very best experience for Destiny as a whole, I'd go with whichever console you have more friends on (: it's gonna be hard finding people that are cool with you like the ones already on your friends list. Just me personally I'd hate to just start over and find new people because I've known the guys and girls I've played on Xbox with for YEARS. But if you think the gains of ps4 is more than that, you should go with that. It's up to you, not up to a forum filled with trolls, liars, and bullshit talkers that get pleasure in seeing people pissed off

Edited by Agitated_Squirrel: 8/25/2014 7:11:13 PMBase you choice on how many people you know have the console that you'll play with and what games does it offer. Personally i have both and their exactly the same, both have issues both have pros but each have their own games. If you pickup a PS4 make sure you get The Last of Us as it's the best game that the PS4 offers right now.

If your starting a destiny account on 360 it only makes sense to get an xbone. The difference between the two are negligible and it's more about your comfort and preferences. I'm on ps4 but simply because I'm a Playstation guy. Timed exclusives don't matter just corporate warfare to sell machines it won't change game experience long term. No different than preorder bonuses they never really matter

Go with the console which most of your friends will be upgrading to unless they have already.

Friends

I have always favored the Playstation, however I would go with whatever system you have the most friends on. That's what makes the system, not a slightly better machine or network, the people you play the games with.
-
Get the system your friends will be going with.

Edited by Star Lord: 8/25/2014 8:32:26 PMNot sure why you're worried about "transferring" your account. Beta characters aren't carrying over so it's not like there's anything to transfer. And you can link your PSN ID to your bungie.net account anyways. Personally, all I would care about is which console your friends are gonna be on. Edit: If you mean you're going to play destiny on 360 until Christmas then yeah you'd have a lot of work to make up. Also, nice name ;)
-
Id go for one.... 1. ud get to play with me.... 2.u have much better games e.g. titanfall 3.its freakin amazing
-
my salutation was to get my ps4 before destiny came out but in your case I would make your decision when you get closer to it things will change they did with me
-
I think unless there is some huge reason for you to switch, you should just stick with what you have and get an xbox one. You won't have to start over on destiny, all of your achievements and your entire xbox "legacy" gets carried over. you would also be paying $110 for two subscriptions if you still plan on playing for your 360, so yeah. unless there is something really swaying you, just stick with it, but thats just how i feel
-
I switched from 360 to PS4 and don't regret it. Make sure you check out upcoming exclusives for each console and see if there are any games you can't love without. As much as I love Destiny, it's available on all consoles and the timed exclusives probably won't be worth more to you than an entire game you want in the future.

I had the same issue, I had a 360 and did a little research and went for the ps4 infamous second son bundle. I like it a lot, the controller was my main issue at first, but it's really great.
