Inevitable console upgrade...what do I choose?
So I'm currently an xbox 360 player. I know that one day, probably nearer to Christmas time, I will be upgrading to a next gen console. I've had my heart set on the PS4 for some time but now, due to Destiny, I've had my head turned towards the Xbone only because of the ability to transfer my Destiny account from 360 to Xbone.
I know the first DLC in December will be for all consoles but after that I'm pretty sure they'll only be available for next gen.
So here's my question. Do I opt for the Xbone for the ability to transfer or do I go for the PS4 and start all over again but enjoy the bonus of timed exclusives?

I was an xbox player until this gen. Ps4 is meant for gaming. In my opinion it won by far in the consoles. But, choose the console your friends play on. It's well worth it.

Stick with the Xbox. The timed exclusive content is useless, also psn is not very trustworthy

2 RepliesI can't persuade you, I can't tell you what to pick, my opinion will be biased because I own one of those consoles. The truth is that it is up to you to choose. The only thing I can tell you is look at the game library and compare to what is coming out and what has already been out for both this Gen and last. The games really do matter and the main reason for choice in a console. I chose the ps4, mainly for games. After having a 360 for years and playing almost everything on it, I got a ps3 one day because it was cheap and started a library for it and found I enjoyed the games on ps3 more. So as said it's up to you to choose, blue pill or the red pill, killing kaiden or Ashley, charmander or squirtle (because nobody choose bulbasaur ) do some research watch videos on gameplay and features and make the choice yourself. Get a PS4 now so you can enjoy Destiny with all the exclusives. Get an Xbone next year and sell your 360 so you can go nuts playing The Division with all it's exclusives. All bases covered. Flawless victory!

Where are most of your friends going? If thats a even split then the only real world differences concerning destiny are 1. PS4 has timed exclusives 2. Your account will transfer to the xbone 3. The controller. 4. PS4 will [i]likely[/i] have a larger player base. But I would expect both consoles to have so many players in Destiny it shouldn't matter.

I am in the same situation, although originally I wanted to get the ps4 over the Xbox1 because it was cheaper, but now Xbox1 now has the Kinect-less bundle selling for the same price, I don't know which to get.

3 RepliesI'm in the same dilemma. I also have a 360 and want a ps4. I think I'm going ps4 tho and just buying the destiny bundle. I'm sure by Christmas it'll have dropped in price. As for my progression... I would love to keep everything and it'll be hard to let go but like the beta I guess it's moving on to better things. By then there will be more to do and I kinda love starting a new game. Like with fallout and skyrim I must've started at least 15 characters on each and finished only half of them. It was usually around the third run through when I had the most fun tho. You know most of the mechanics and a few short cuts/secrets that'll give you an edge etc. honestly man you should go with what you really want. I know what I want and am set. If the X1 looks good to you then go for it, but if you're only doing it for progression and don't like the console then I say do like me and go for the ps4 :) hope that helps somewhat.

Go for what your friends have? Look at the exclusive games? Can you use a Playstation controller? If not, stick to the xbox.

It's a timed exclusive, so go for the Xbox One, especially if you did the Beta because we will get a special item.

Honestly, I wouldn't consider file transfer when deciding. When you think about which exclusives you'd rather play and which console your friends and family have, file transfer for one game is pretty insignificant. I've owned ps consoles all my life but I've never owned an xbox. I don't have anything against the brand and some of my best memories are playing splitscreen halo 3 in college, but I know overall I prefer ps exclusives more. Plus my brothers and my uncle have ps consoles. Basically, for the thousandth time, all it comes down to is personal preference of exclusives and who you're playing with. Once you're having fun, none of the other bullshit matters anyway.

Whatever the hell your bros are playing. That's why I leave my xbox for offline exclusive stuff while the ps is for online.

Exclusives. Get which ever console's exclusives appeal to you more. If you like Uncharted, Killzone, Infamous- Get a PS4 If you like Halo, Sunset Overdrive, Forza- Get a Xbox The price is the same and the console's power status is very overrated. The UI for both console's are pretty easy to get used to (Unless you are just really slow) And the controller for both consoles feel pretty good, and aren't really hard to get used to.

I'm sticking to xbox because it's what I know and all my friends are on it, only reason I'd ever switch to ps4 is if I was really desperate for the destiny exclusive content. Ps controller sucks, their security sucks because it's free except for ps4 which still isn't as secure people can get your info easy as hell. It's honestly whatever you feel, I'm sure you've gotten the childish PS4 elitist link reply which most of the links are outdated anyway so I would go by that. All the "social" features in xbone doesn't make it less efficient just cool to have. Ps4 dash is garbage compared to the xbone and it also gets hotter faster. I'm gonna take alot of heat but I don't care xbone and ps4 are good systems for their communities and each one has it's flaws and perks pick what you want, of you've been with xbox awhile then stick to it.
