The thing with raids is that according to Bungie their difficulty will require a group of six skilled and determined players who have coordinated a strategy that they are willing to work at and implement for a large chunk of time (possibly 3-8 hrs). Matchmaking just won't be able to make that group happen. Having a team/raid mate drop out of a game is frustrating to every gamer, from casual to hardcore, and in this instance it would cause almost certain failure. The only way Bungie could hope to ensure this combination of players with the previous attributes came together is to have them put an equal amount of effort into forming a raid party as the individuals would be putting into completing the raids themselves. I don't think most players have issue with the proposed difficulty of the raids so adjusting that won't solve anything. Just my thoughts

Edited by Kriegar3: 9/16/2014 7:53:48 AMMaybe today MM won't let that happen but when over 50% of people are 26+ and twiddling their thumbs and have watch youtubes of the raids over and over im pretty sure any PUG will know 'the way' to do the raids. Like any MMO, the trail blazers will blaze the trail and the masses will follow. Right now there is no option for the masses to follow. Raids need MM, or players should have a LFG function and players should be able to initiate a party and open it up for people to request invitation. There is already a function to see who is in the tower when you're there. How much of a stretch is it to have a LFG flag and when inspected, you can see what missions, strikes or raids that person is looking to achieve. That seems like a very simple solution if match making isn't their intention. You can look at the person's loot, look at what they want to do and decide if you want to team up. At least then, once teamed, you have an option to actually talk to the person if you want to use a mic and aren't shy. There should also be a tower chat function to talk in like any other MMO.

That is a good point to consider that everyone has put in the time to reach 26+ so the individual skills would be there. I just think the communication/ teamwork would be lacking. I'm not against MM at all but I can understand their decision to leave it out. Who knows, after this raid has been completed by some it could be added.

You compare find a group with the 100+h you will likely need for training, winning and grinding raids up to hard difficulty? Ps: Skill will impact only on the numbers of h needed before mastering the raid
