Edit: The truth of the matter is that Bungie is not going to integrate matchmaking with Raids. We need to make the best of a bad situation and use the tools we have at our disposal to make it as painless as possible.
Let's see how long it last. Good luck with the spam fest What is the difference between this and a matchmaking ? none What advantage do you have using the forum ? Do you stupid noobs think that every one is XxX 420 No Scope God or something ? People who are against MM are noobs who are left behind because they are bad at the game and will hide behind a clan. You have a higher change to beat the raid ? NO and it will take 30+ minute to set it up and you will fail after 10 min You have the right to remain bad at the game. You want me to join your party for raids ? Pay me , I take paypal. #SocialSkills, more like #RetardSkills

  • I'm against matchmaking, and I am not in a clan what so ever. The difference between putting up a post on here and matchmaking, is that on here you can control who you let onto your team. You can look over their stats, their gear, and you can talk to them. Matchmaking on the other hand, does the opposite of all of this, and you have no control if a level 7 decides to test his luck on a raid, and mess up your chances.

  • However many years ago, Borderlands had a matchmaking system that linked up like-levels. Just saying. My problem with the 'for, or against matchmaking' argument is the status of the social interaction within the game. There isn't any. If they would just put in a method of communicating, you wouldn't need matchmaking, or the crutch of the forums. But if they refuse to allow us to communicate, I feel the game requires matchmaking. The difference between posting here, and matchmaking is simple: the former isn't part of the game, and reliance upon it proves ineptitude, and lack of foresight on Bungie's behalf. If it's the only tool we can use to play the game: all they've created is an incomplete, antisocial game.

  • Why isn't the Destiny Companion App part of the game? Watch Dogs had one. GTA V have one. Call of Duty and Battlefield have one. Just because Bungie are using it differently, doesn't mean it isn't part of the game. Let's look at Battlelog as an example. You can edit your loadout, go onto the forums, join clans, join servers/games. I see Battlelog as important part of the game, because I use it correctly. Now look back at the DCA, you can edit your loadout, go onto forums, join clans and instead of joining games/servers, you can organise raids. Just because you can't see the use for the app, doesn't mean others don't.

I'm not familiar with any game app, other than Destiny's. So, I gotta ask: Did the apps, for the other games, provide additional functionality that wasn't present in the games themselves; or were they, as Destiny's suggests, merely companions? (Seems like too many commas ... lets try a semicolon for a change :P)

Well I can't talk for the Watch Dogs app, as I have nether played the game, nor used the app. GTA V "iFruit" app, allowed to train Chop (the in game dog), join clans for online, and edit cars (one feature was to edit the number plate that could otherwise not be edited) I haven't used the Call of Duty app either. Battlelog allows you to search for servers with a more user friendly search engine than the game, you could also look up stats of other players easily. Destiny Companion App has the edit feature that Battlelog (and I would assume Call of Duty) has, in the sense, that you can change your loadout at will. But also, you can read up on the Grimoire that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Well, if those are all features that weren't available in game: I think you've just provided the only sensible argument against matchmaking! Wish I had a retort. I didn't realize games were moving in this direction. (Kinda sucks for me: I have a real distaste for phones!) What are Grimoire Cards? All they do is flip around, and say 'redacted' ..

  • The app for watchdogs was a separate game in and of it self. You could interact with people playing the game, but didnt really connect to your character. Its hard to explain.

  • Yea, this "Portable" part of new games, has kinda snuck it's way into the game industry. It makes sense to, most people have a phone or tablet, so why not integrate their players to use them aswell. And Grimoire is the in game lore, you can read up on facts about the Fallen, or the Darkness etc, seems they have retracted all of our cards from the Beta though, as I could read quite a bit off of mine. Also there was a feature, part of the Grimoire, that said "Come back on 9/9 to find put more", which could mean that Grimoire does more.

  • True , but a lobby system you can do the same thing , if the game allows you to see your stats other to use a stupid App. But knowing this, you can look at other people stats, what do you think those noobs will ask from Bungie ? Please Bungie, I am a noob, my stats are exposing me, pls hide stats such a KDA, W/L and more. Ya.... just like what they did with League of Retards, hell they hide everything to the point you need to use an other website for BASIC stats

  • And Bungie won't listen to the whiners, just as much as they are not listening to you whining about no matchmaking.

  • They knew that they needed to change it before they even released the alpha, same as needing to change the Hand Cannon stats, and the Pulse Rifle. They have said, time and time again now, that there will be no matchmaking, they never said that they wouldn't change the stats of the Interceptor, so that was a poor example. Try again:
