I am 38 and I have been playing video games longer than most of you have been alive. I see everyone telling their age which seems to be the early 20s for the most part. Most everyone I know does not playing video games, but I have not been this excited about a game since Halo 2 or KOTOR. Anyone else in the same boat?
Edit: I am amazed at all the responses. Thank you all. See all of you on the 9th. Xbox One: pepelewe

39, feel like I'm surrounded by kids. Now I play online with my nephews!

I'm 32 and have been playing games since I was 5 (Sega Master System). Aside from spending time with my wife and daughter, there is nothing I'd rather do than sit down with a good video game and relax. I don't plan on quitting my gaming habit any time soon either. As far as being excited about Destiny, I don't think I've ever been this excited for a game. This past month since the beta has been absolutely miserable.

Edited by Warpath73: 8/22/2014 12:42:16 AMYup! 40 here, Mw2c. Reflexes slower, free time scarce, but I am insanely hyped for this game!

I'm 38 and have been gaming since commodore64. And I don't see any signs of slowing. Really looking forward to Destiny and meeting all ages of people who are eager to play this game. Thanks for building a great community.

It happened yesterday when you weren't looking.

I started playing on the original NES. I'm 34 and I'm going to keep playing until arthritis kicks in. LOL

I am 31 years young and in 2004-2007 I wasn't really into gaming. I played some PS2 games on occasion, but everything changed when I purchased a Xbox 360 w/ Halo 3. I really found myself gaming on the regular after work and college. Gaining friends who I continue to play with to this day. We've all been in a drought gaming wise lately. I have a feeling Destiny will change that.

Strangely enough, this is the first game in absolutely ages that I am counting down the days until it is released. I have no idea what it was, but something about the game really hit the spot for me. All I'm going to say is the 60's was a very good era, and my first game was played on a ZX81.

Same age & same feelings :)

I just realized ill be 40 by the time destiny closes.....
-
Meah.. Not many of us elderlies out there, though I did see someone was in their 60's playing the Beta!

I'm 31. I started playing video games when I was 4. That was 27 years ago. This article shows that the average gamer is 31. That means to keep the average the same, I am duty bound to play games for another 27 years, assuming the average doesn't go up (which the article says it will.
In 27 years, they'll be on the 38th CoD regurgitation, yay!
Edited by TK: 8/21/2014 11:34:41 PMI'm 23, and I absolutely love this post for showing yet again what a wide range community we have here! If any of you guys are on Xbox One on launch day, give me a shout to team up.
I've not been as excited for a game like Destiny since Halo 2 either.
My first video game was on the Coleco Telstar which would be around when you were born in 1976. And I just gave the Coleco Telstar unit away. I also played an ASCII based Star Trek and the original text game 'Adventure' on a mainframe computer. My brothers and I played Perfect General and Empire Deluxe via modem/phone. Optionally, you could save your turn on disk and mail that. I still play a version of that called, Empire Deluxe Enhanced Edition (a turn based strategy game) via e-mail with several people. I've seen people older than myself (67) post their age here.

Brother, I turned 40, today and I have countdown timer on my phone for when the game comes out. I've never been this excited about a game before. Never bought a limited edition, never did a midnight release or took a day off of work but I'm doing all that for Destiny.

I'm 38, much to my mothers discomfort I was born with a controller already in hand, `i've owned a vast number of systems over the years, some I sold on, some gave up the ghost and were never replaced, some are even still packed away in dark dusty corners somewhere, but some I still have and I drag them out now and then to rekindle some half forgotten memories.
