Edited by DawnBlue: 8/22/2014 7:43:22 AMWell, it's not a full-on RPG. And we don't know how long it will take to reach anyways I'd play the game if it didn't have levels at all, lol... if you could just have all the abilities from the minute you make a character. Maybe wouldn't unlock the second Subclass instantly though, that could be like "do X story missions" or something... bah, why bother even considering how it would work since it's not reality anyways :D

I believe that this game is less about the level an more about the journey. Plus you have to realize we are in for a 10 year trip.
-
Why would level 30 not be acceptable. The raid is stated in IGN video about end game content that it is level 25. So the easiest / fastest way to get to level 30 is my raiding, if not the only way. Destiny is a shooter first before anything, you can tell by design choices. Most shooters are not what I would consider huge, I think what I seen in Beta aligns with this. Plus the way game is designed they will increase level cap when they add new raids. Only reason level 30 is the max because of the max of light stat gear you can get in game. Which increasing that stat I don't think will no an easy task. If you have a gear with +18 light stat on it then upgrade to a piece of gear that has +24 light. That is only a 6 light difference, won't be a big change alone.

im fine with it :)

Edited by ash: 8/21/2014 9:50:06 PMBearing in mind that: a) EXP Gain was accelerated for the beta. b) EXP Required to level up exponentially increases in many RPGs. I'm assuming getting to 20 won't take too long, perhaps before you finish the Story. While 30 will take much longer since you boost your Light LVL with raid drops. Remember it's not about a number, but what that number represents. For instance, Bungie have gone from Halo Campaigns with 10 locations, to a Campaign with *only* 4 locations in Destiny. But each of those 4 locations are much larger than several Halo missions combined. There'll also be other leveling systems in the game like Vanguard and Crucible rank, Cryptarch, Iron Banner, FWC, Dead Orbit and New Monarchy Ranks, and so on. I think there'll be plenty to do.

Level cap has nothing to do with the game. Games like this are always better after reaching the level cap. So kill yourself
-
are you being sarcastic here cuz i cant tell?
-
No. Level doesn't matter. Games like destiny get better after hitting the level cap
-
So kill yourself
Wow ok
-
It's called horizontal leveling
-
Wonderful!!!!!! I can do each class quicker now
-
Perfectly acceptable.
-
The sooner I get to end game the better...the game don't even start for me till max level!

Edited by sergeantawesome: 8/21/2014 8:27:41 PMYes, this isn't WoW. Its an FPS.

>Pay Day 2 has a level cap of 100 with infamy levels at 100 to go to I-100 or 200 levels total >Borderlands 2 has a level cap of 72 >Call of Duty has a level cap of 55 and prestige levels up to 10 times for "550 levels" total.
-
Borderlands is actually 80 now lol but it grew with dlc...

Your comment makes no sence whats so ever. Every game is different when it comes to how fast you can lvl up. We have no clue how fast we will level up in the final game of Destiny. It could probably take forever to lvl up in Destiny. Your comment is stupid and invalid until the full game of Destiny comes and we see if it would tame a long time to level up or not.

Edited by sergeantawesome: 8/21/2014 8:46:36 PM-Never played Pay Day 2 -Borderlands 2 is not exactly Destiny, it is more of an Adventure RPG shooter, and it sucks, its gunplay is nowhere near as good as Destiny -Call of Duty is MP and has a significantly less amount of depth to it. Prestige leveling is just wasting your time doing the same thing over again. Destiny has a type of "lateral" progression after maxing out.
-
The point of it is that 30 is low in comparison to other shooters on the market.
-
Fallout 3 had 20 lv to start and was then bumped to 30. It was enough
-
In terms of numbers, yes, but character growth, I disagree.
-
What is the difference between a level cap of 30 and 100? These are just numbers and both of these max levels could take you 30 hours to get to... The level cap might also increase with each expansion so I say patience.
-
Guild Wars had a level cap of 20, which a person could reliably reach in less than a week. And yet the game itself lasted 7 years, and STILL has people playing it, almost 2 years after the release of the sequel. Quite an accomplishment for a game with a meager 20 levels.
-
Personally I'd love to see max lvl be 100 but that's just me
-
Isn't about the level cap. It's about the content. And people are confident in the amount of content.
