I loved the BETA as much as the next DoD, and cannot wait to jump back in on the 9th, there was only one thing in Destiny that leaves me wanting, and I was wondering what you guys thought.
I love the ability to customize your self, loot weapons, new ghost skins, emblems, sparrows and spaceships, although I was a bit at a loss with the ships. I will defiantly be saving my glimmer to buy the best most badass ship in the verse, but I feel like they could be more than just home screen decoration. I don't wanna fly the thing that'd be crazy, but I feel that maybe if you could venture inside the ship (even if its only a cockpit and pilots quarters), it would give you a more personal attachment to the ships as a home for your guardian, maybe somewhere with various monitors to track friends and clan members, read grimoire cards, check vendors stock befor heading to the tower, checking available missions to make a plan of action, all from the comfort of you personal hq. I'm not talking fully customisable with full matchmaking hub (although that wouldn't be a bad thing), I'm just thinking that a space to enter, plan, converse, a place that is bigger in size and better in design the more you spend would feel like a well deserved reward for all your hard earned glimmer.
What would star wars be without the millennium falcon, star trek without the enterprise, firefly without serenity?
Every legend needs a home, a vehicle, a friend...
I think Maybe I'm getting too involved ...
Thoughts?

I dismantle all but the raid ship...goes to show how much I care for a stinky ass ship :P
-
+1 Mass Effect without the Normandy and your awesome fish tank!
-
-
Yes please and ship fights
-
I agree, also nice to see a fellow firefly fan
-
Screw ships they are nothing but a loading screen. focus on more weapons/ armor and more designs of each. WTH this game has so little in variations.
-
I have got 1 rare ship out of a chest and another out of a bounty, I would appreciate more use of the things.
-
This sounds badass but I was also thinking apartments in the city and actually doing things in the city.
-
Yes definitely should be a walking around feature in the ship, like in mass effect

Let's face it, we see our spaceship quite abit flying through orbit & it barely ever changes :( I know it doesn't effect gameplay but it would be nice to see different shapes, colours, sizes etc of spaceships. I think I've had 2 new spaceships in the 80+ hours I've played destiny & they've both been the same shape & horrible colour! If I'm honest i preferred the default spaceship shape compared to the new spaceships you get! Same goes for the vehicles, it's changed once and always stayed the same since. Things bungie could do: • Shaders for your spaceship (or somehow to change the colour) • More variety of spaceships & vehicles • Different shape vehicles • Edit your own spaceship (like change different wings, cockpit, thrusters, something so it's different to others) • Put your emblem that's equipped on your spaceship & vehicle At the beginning of destiny you had so many different options of what your guardian looks like but barely ever see it's face! & the ships we ALWAYS SEE, rarely change. Please write a comment if you agree or disagree with my opinion & let bungie know what could improve our experience as a player. Thanks for reading :)

Yeah there could be a screen where it says fellow guardians and you can invite friends and set courses to planets

How comes this gets 100+ replies in 1min & the feedback I just wrote about NO verity of Spaceships 10 mins ago gets 0 replies!! #Noobist

hey maybe with their "comet" stand alone who knows!!
http://documents.latimes.com/bungie-activision-contract/
I agree completely that the ships are underutilized, but introducing space combat(or, as you suggest, interior views) at this point seems very, very unlikely. That's a pretty fundamental game mechanic to change. Perhaps in Destiny 2...

Guys look what i found, some hope!
http://halo.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?cid=32237
very good idea but i think they dont have time for this or at least it has to be in a dlc!
-
Hell yes hanging out in your ship with our friends would be amazing!!!
-
What if there were giant freighters leaving every 5 minutes from the tower and you could vote on destinations inside with random people, then blast over to that place and take on a mission with random people? That would be awesome!
-
Well said! They will probably never do it. I,m still waiting for a volume control for the music.. Sigh..
-
How big is the inside of the ship anyway? Also...i've yet to see someone's ship drop them off and autofly off like in the gameplay trailers.

me like

This is actually being introduced in Warframe and it looks fantastic.

Edited by Marsawd: 8/23/2014 10:55:54 PMI REALLY disliked the idea of players getting their own homes in The Last City when people suggested it, honestly. It's probably because the thought of a "Guardian" putting his feet up in his very own sci-fi manor with a cup of hot coco in his hand was a bit silly, or because I didn't like the idea of players being able to gloat about having a better/more expensive piece of property than the next person. BUT I love the idea you've come up with. Having a spaceship home or safehouse sounds like a really cool idea, and it fits in with the constant Guardian routine of having to protect someone or quell something because it's so nomadic - they're constantly on the go. Not to mention it'd be cool to be able to look out of the windows and stuff to give it a really authentic feel when you're looking out into space and staring at the stars as the sun lights up the inside of your ship..
