He was a music composer working with Paul McCartney. What's the worst he could have done? Outside of arguing with someone, or upsetting the wrong person, or inappropriate work place behavior. "Oh, you've came in late 3 days now Marty, and I'm still not happy about this chord. We're gonna have to ask you to leave." "Marty, I know you're a musician. But the alcohol has to stay at home." I'm a musician but not professional by any means. But I did work within the industry, a music store, selling instruments and such for a couple years. Moved on because of pay, it's a dying industry.

  • You are most likely right, it looks like it was his behavior in some way or another. What happened, supposedly, is that Marty had always been a sort of separate entity within the family of Bungie. He's been known to make statements like "There, that is music, now build me a game around that music." He took a lot of artistic leadership, and I can see his forays into other parts of the game as being annoying for the board. That bit is important, by the way, the board got rid of him, specifically Harold Ryan. ...But why the board would go as far as to get rid of him, we still don't know. The good news is that Marty still has a serious amount of friends at Bungie, and his is still working with Michael Salvatori and Paul McCartney on "The Music of the Spheres."
