1) hype does not equal fact, and all we have at this point is a staged game with a team of 6 people who never played the game prior to being thrust into its hardest content 2) clan and social functions are not in the game. It's been stated time and again that hey are forum only. Considering how few people ever use forums, it's just bad game design and should be corrected either through MM or a decent communication system in game 3) saying things like "you are/aren't raid material" makes you sound like an egotistical tool (not saying you are one). This ruins any chance at having a coherent and civil discussion. 4) raids can't be entered till lvl 25 which is 5 levels past the soft cap and so the chances of running into players who aren't at least decent are greatly reduced.

Only in your heads. Bungie made a boo-boo. No MM, terrible communication in a so called social game. They should have just released this game as a FPS co-op. You wouldn't have to deal with us. We were scammed. Now we have the forums to ask why. To suggest how to improve the game and keep all the people that listened to their fantasy. Like I said, it's to close to launch to expect a change. If they don't fix the comm., make it easier to make parties IN THE GAME!! Players will leave eventually. Bungie's world domination will wait till they get it right. Can't wait till you log on and your short friends to play with. Oh, that's right, you don't like people. They are all annoying. Have a good day. Thanks for your comment.

  • Aaargh, sorry LB, I was a little pissed off. I don't like gloating. We agreed on the comm. issue. If they fix that, all will be well.

  •
1) hype does not equal fact, and all we have at this point is a staged game with a team of 6 people who never played the game prior to being thrust into its hardest content
And various statement, and the fact that they will not put MM that is bullshit unless you do real raids in which case is NEEDED to take MM off. So either they are idiots or they know what they are doing
2) clan and social functions are not in the game. It's been stated time and again that hey are forum only. Considering how few people ever use forums, it's just bad game design and should be corrected either through MM or a decent communication system in game
On this I agree. They need to find a solution in-game. And no, MM is not a solution for communication problems
3) saying things like "you are/aren't raid material" makes you sound like an egotistical tool (not saying you are one). This ruins any chance at having a coherent and civil discussion.
True in that. The real thing is that you need to enter in raiding mentality(find players and organize the raid training days with them) to tackle them. FPS mentality (go online when i want and play with whoever is online) will bring you nowhere in a raid and since community is largely in FPS mentality now they need to be forced out of it to let them complete the raids
4) raids can't be entered till lvl 25 which is 5 levels past the soft cap and so the chances of running into players who aren't at least decent are greatly reduced.
The problem are not the skill but experience in the raid. And the chance to be paired with at least 3 player practically new to said raid would be nearly a certainty. Just one person not yet trained in that raid can prevent the whole group from go on. That's how raids are. Forget that skill in FPS is enough. It won't. It won't even be needed. All you need and is vital is exp in that specific fight

  • Considering how consistently game companies lie for no reason, and exactly how much is riding on this venture, I expect Bungie to say anything they can to get sales...

  • Sad way to see it when we have many hints of this not be the case. I won't share it

  •
1) hype does not equal fact, and all we have at this point is a staged game with a team of 6 people who never played the game prior to being thrust into its hardest content
I'm assuming you're talking about the people who tried and failed at the raid? I agree with you here. On the flip side of that, we don't have a reason to think this isn't going to be a challenge. The requiring us to do this we haven't done before in a shooter leads me to think team work will be an absolute necessity.
2) clan and social functions are not in the game. It's been stated time and again that hey are forum only. Considering how few people ever use forums, it's just bad game design and should be corrected either through MM or a decent communication system in game
This is strictly an opinion. Fireteam chat is available to everyone, even if you don't like it. I would never use proximity chat; I'd turn the volume all the way down before using that shit. That is my opinion Just as yours is an opinion.
3) saying things like "you are/aren't raid material" makes you sound like an egotistical tool (not saying you are one). This ruins any chance at having a coherent and civil discussion.
Maybe that's how you interpret it but that isn't how it's meant. The bottom line is raiding isn't meant for everyone; there's nothing wrong with that. Bungie is catering to people who have the time for something like a raid, the same way they've catered to people who don't have much time with explore or people who like campaigns or people who like pvp. I think it's actually pretty awesome someone finally puts in a hard mode for the more extreme players.
4) raids can't be entered till lvl 25 which is 5 levels past the soft cap and so the chances of running into players who aren't at least decent are greatly reduced.
Maybe for a few weeks. After a month or two there will be a number of people who are at higher levels. By the time you've reached this level you should have played with a number of people. If you aren't able to find people to play a raid with at this point you need to look a t what you're doing because plenty of others will have found a way to make this happen.
