Basically it would be a carrier ship......it would be....the Mother Ship. Actually not a bad idea. Think of it this way. It's pure speculation on my part, but it seems like you might need a better ship capable of long distance jumping for future missions in far off distant locations. Say your ship isn't capable, you just started or just plain cheap, can't make the jump. But you joined a clan with a, wait for it....Mother Ship. You can dock your ship with your clans carrier and travers space within it. That would be pretty cool to me at least. I'll take it even farther, clan carrier vs. clan carrier PVP combat =o. Let the hate comments begin =p

I Like that idea but i see one thing that would become a problem. The carrier would move a lot, if you used the mother ship to travel and during the mission or exploring the mother ship moves out of your ship's range, your stranded until it comes back.

It could be that the carrier makes it into a distant star system and goes into a stationary orbit in that system. That way it will remain in range for all of its travelers. If you were referring to a what if your clan leaves while your ship isn't docked. Well now you know what they really thought of you, but yea technically you would be stuck in that star system. A way around it could be having to have all ships be docked for the carrier to move out of the system. Or even a forced re-docking if the player isn't available to send his ship back to the carrier. Mind you this is all just conjecture or empty speculation.
