I mean they have a standing army more than a million strong. Each member of that army can wade into battle outnumbered 100:1 and still win. Not only that but they are IMMORTAL. Killing a guardian only pisses them off.
No worries your city is protected by millions of immortal juggernauts. With magical powers to boot.

Guardians can die if their ghost dies and can't revive them.
-
Gaurdians aren't immortal per say, they can die, but i guess ghosts can revive them, but if their ghost dies, I guess they're screwed. You start out dead in the beginning of the game, and also, a Gaurdian is dead on the moon mission. They are worried because even though they do have lots of protection, they don't have the strength they once did, they went from planets filled with life to one city left on earth, I'd be paranoid too

Guardians can die. Gameplay and lore are separate parts of the game.
-
A couple of the missions you could have played on the beta. Your ghost says that guardians go dark. Which means they get taken by the darkness.
-
Well that may be the case but have you seen a golden key around here anywhere? I can't seem to find it...

Because it's the future and The Last Guardian still hasn't been released!
the darkness used to be a story told to frighten children, now, the children are frightened anyways. - Speaker
Or at least something along that. The general population is worried, so says the speaker, it's just that we're the last protectors, if we're afraid, then it's probably over for the Last City. We also have no idea what the full extent of any of our enemies actually are yet, we don't even know what the darkness is.

Haha love it
-
Did you even play that Moon mission. -blam!- Guardians can die....for good.
-
More like 100,000:1
-
They're worried.....because.....
they all are worshipped of a big ball in the sky.
Guardians can die...

You ever try to kill darkness? Sure flipping the light switch makes it go away... But what happens when power goes out? BOOM it's back! Darkness can effectively out last everything... Nothingness is kinda unbeatable.

Edited by RebornV3: 8/15/2014 7:55:11 AMWell actually those numbers are wrong there can only be 12 people in a the tower area or on a mission so really the city is protected by 12 people at any given time (excluding other guardian NPCs) not millions cause there will never be a million players in the same instance or server
-
Think of the big picture, a few million is nothing when looked at galactic scale. We're merely a drop of water in that ocean of a universe
-
The darkness is able to do spawnkilling so they dont care if humans are revived by ghosts. Maybe they trained this spawntrapping thing in CoD. We will never know...
-
Oh they are only worried about me finding heavy ammo for my rocket launcher.
-
But,If the traveler can use it's Ghost to revive Guardians.........Can the 'Darkness' DO THE SAME THING? Is the darkness a huge planet-like being?
-
if they capture or kill your ghost ... YOUR DEAD!!!

Never under estimate your opponent. May the Light be your guide GRIMGUARDs .

We did see in the moon mission they were able to kill a guardian for good. That and ghosts are limited, so they won't be able to Bolster their numbers if they die.
-
Edited by IHaveNoNameI: 8/15/2014 1:58:34 AMThe Darkness is coming becuz the Ghosts didnt revive the technicians that can fix the light(ing), thats good one
-
I'll tell you why! It's because we are fighting the darkness and guardians just shoot things. Maybe if the ghosts revived some damn electricians we could just get the lights working and bam no more darkness.
-
So perhaps someone has already set straight what I kinda saw as a misconception already... but if we're going to desperately eek out lore from the little drops of story we've gotten so far - the traveler is in a mother -blam!-ing coma. The Darkness is scary still, because we just haven't seen it. Stuff has been happening with Fallen, hive and cabal still being in our faces and and everything, but the influence of the Darkness is not present right now, hence "... That the Darkness would return one day." The guardians haven't encountered legit darkness juiced forces since the fall all the way back to the last city. For that matter there are dead ghosts to rescue, guardians totally die. Whether the reviving is a story canon concept or just the style of game play I don't think is as clear, but if your ghost dies, you die. Pretty sure this alluded to in the grimoire cards also. Anyone who paid legit better attention than me? Did I miss something? Straight up wrong about something? Overall though, we are basically space Sparta in terms of badassedness, I mean when the end raids come? 6 guardians will mow down an entire army, probably, if that's how that works.
