I actually see hunters being screwed in the jump puzzle. Trying to double jump around the corner near Bravo on Venus was a nightmare as a Hunter. Conversely I could also see warlocks biffing it on the jump puzzle as well, since it has a more touchy double jump. More likely though, raids will be made up of 6 willing bodies regardless of their class.

  • Oh thank God I wasn't the only one having trouble with that jump!!!! I gave up going in that direction after a few times...but every once in a while I tried and failed lol

  • I died three times in a row because after the first time I got super pissed and just kept going back. Haha, I don't usually play the hunter, so I wasn't used to it, nor did I have the directional control.

  • In the full version of the game you'll be able to unlock a triple jump, so that should give you a better opportunity to avoid hazardous obstacles, improve accuracy when jumping and get to higher vantage points. The Hunter will be just fine, just fine, sir.

You're not timing your jump properly. Jump puzzles are jump puzzles. Learn to jump. I died on that spot a couple times before I figured out to double jump at the start of my initial jump to get enough height but not go too high. Immediately, landing on that ledge became second nature to me.

  • I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying that's where I see people having trouble. If you learned to do it, that's great. Personally, I didn't pvp enough for it to be worth dying there repeatedly to figure it out. I was just commenting on the perception that of the three classes Hunter has the least control with their secondary jump.

  • You did say that Hunter's were screwed which is the same as saying it can't be done. And actually they do have the most control when it comes to jumps out of all the classes. The reason they have the most control is that their jumps are more responsive and quick. There's no screwing around with flying abilities or momentum. For comparison: The hunter can jump at any point while in mid air during their previous jump. As for the other classes, they lose a lot of power when you try to jump with zero upward momentum or during descent with downward momentum where as with a hunter, you could jump off say the Empire State building, and jump again before you hit the ground and immediately ascend to maximum jump height where as the other classes would simply decelerate because their jump abilities are a lift or hover and not a real jump. With the lift jumps, you need to rely on momentum to carry you which is why it is typically ideal to jump early except with the hunter where you would want to jump at the peak of the initial's jump. The hunter does not need to worry about momentum. I am not saying the hunter has the best jump, just that is has better control. However, it will always lose to the other classes in maximum distance vertical and horizontal when the player controlling them utilizes momentum effectively. Momentum does not come simply from the initial jump, there are many other things that can cause it, like explosions for example. Though the hunter can utilize momentum from similar factors like explosions, the jumps from Warlock and Titan are more easily influenced by kinetic energy which makes them less reliable but so much more versatile.

  • Screwed doesn't mean can't be done, though I could see how you could interpret it that way. I meant more that they would have a more stringent learning curve for the jump puzzle.
I actually see hunters being screwed in the jump puzzle.
Actually it does. It's fundamentally the same as saying "shit out of luck" or that you're unable to do anything about it except switch do another class. I now understand what you were trying to say which was that 'hunters will have a hard time' but I initially read it as 'Hunters are screwed.' You need to be careful because miscommunication can cause a mess especially on b.net forums. I do agree with you on the learning curve. Jump timing pretty much determines whether or not you'll cover more distance vertically or horizontally. Though it is easy to learn, it will punish you for the slightest error in timing causing you to lose the necessary jump distance or height required to carry you from point a to point b. Fun fact: Having jump set to LB is extremely helpful.

  • You don't seem very satisfied. I'm sorry if I was too strongsided in my argument. Sometimes I get so into discussing things with others that people will feel like I'm trying to bury them if we have opposing arguments. If your reply was a message you edited because you change your mind at the last second and wanted me to disregard it then disregard mine as well.

  • Yeah, no worries. I had a long post arguing a point that didn't matter.
