There is no reason for raid to have MM. For all of those people whining about it, if you are thrown in with 5 others that you don't know their skills or play style or maturity you and your team are going to die. A lot. And each time you entire team dies you have to start over. Raids are multiple hours long to go through compared to strikes which could take a max of 30 min to an hour depending on the area (like devils lair for instance). Also the game instills you to meet people in-game, friend them, and play with them. You will meet a lot of people who you can invite to the raid to try it. No reason for matchmaking. Also everyone who enters would be level 20 or higher so their skills are refined and they probably have top-notch equipment. It is better and much more fun to go in with a group of your friends rather than a group of strangers you don't know. Destiny focuses on being social and having no MM for Raids will do just that. Have people meet people. Social Integration! Bungie do not back down. Stand your ground and fight back the darkness that seeks to change how a raid works. Fight back.... and become LEGEND!

  • Again how does other people using MM to get a party together affect you raiding with your friends? It doesn't. If Bungie was SO interested in the social aspects why is there so few ways to talk to others? and no voice chat?

  • Voice chat and stuff I think wasn't thought of at the time. Maybe in the full release they will have open voice chat until you get into a fireteam. I see your point that it won't affect friends playing with each other, but every time you want to do a raid do you want to wait 5 mins or invite a few people to your fireteam and just jump in? It makes it faster and easier. And by the time you can actually do a raid you will have met several people and added them to your friends list so you can invite them. They put a raid to be accessible at a point where everyone would have people to invite. So no reason for matchmaking. Except for lone wolves, but without MM lobe wolves can stay lone wolves. Albeit a raid, but themselves would take awhile and be the difficulty level of Dark Souls, but they still could. So no MM. They need work on social aspects, but other than that it's fine.

  • Actually the chat is left out on purpose and will not be in the release version. The only chat in game is fire team only, they said they did this to prevent trolling. So with no way to communicate with other players you will NOT be making the kinds of contacts needed. In a game that is supposed to demand teamwork and yet provides no way to communicate is a fail.

  • Ok so which is it, MM groups will be full of under skilled, under geared players who will constantly fail or that at level 20 everyone will develop the skills and have the gear that running with just anyone you meet will work. The second part of your argument negated the first. As far as the social aspect goes, there is no promoting getting to know those you run into. Fire team only chat means that you'll never even talk to that guy who dominated that strike you and brother jumped into, that dude on your team in PvP that kicking butt ..... sorry, you and your friends will never know him, the stranger who happened by and pulled you out of the fire in the Cosmodrome may as well be Batman for all you know. Did you study interpretive dance, if not too bad you'll never find out what that guy in the tower by the Cryptarch wanted. Without basic tools of communication how are you going to meet anyone?

  • Let's say you can get to 50% of raid. You want to train that part right? Forget this possibility with MM. With MM you will always die at 10-20-30% since the raids are not strike mission where if he screw up you revive him and go on, in raids if he screw up you die too starting it over again. So you need not pro players or elites. You need similar exped players. If you have your group that train it weekly you have no problem here. If you do it with random players.. You can't hope to train last part of fight, you will every time have the new one making the party wipe

  • I'm sorry, I have no idea 1- what you are even talking about nor 2 - what that has to do with anything I said. What I said is he can't have it both ways- under geared and under skilled players will ruin the raid or groups will be easy to find because at lvl 20 we will all have the gear and skill. Also your incoherent statement fails to speak on the missing elements of communication that inhibit us from meeting our fellow players.

  • I'm positive that the communication problem was due to not having it implemented in beta. If not it's a big fail The point is that if you bring a skilled uber equipped player that has yet to try out raids, it make you wipe the same way. It's not about skills, it's about experience in that fight

  • No the communication system worked like they wanted it to. They said there is only fire team chat to stop trolling and trash talking. Which it stops, but it also greatly reduces any chance of meeting new players.

  • I know trouble with voice chat in whole map and i'd skip that too if i'd be a developer. But take that out and not replacing with something usable it's a plain mistake. If it's still like in the Beta at release it's a huge loss for this game. They must get some good ideas about that and i hope they can work something out

  • I get the lack of proximity chat, it's usually sketchy at best, but MM chat in strikes and PvP is left out on purpose (and a major fail, these are where you meet the people you want to run with most often). Most people are in agreement, as we seem to be, that this needs to change and if they would change it a lot of the MM threads would probably go away.

  • Well, i se this as too basic form them to -blam!- this up =/ In beta i didn't even know if i entered succesfully in the clan since there was no integration in game. They NEED to have something in store for us
