The -blam!- Microsoft.
Came home from work, usual routine. "Xbox on" things working as usual. "Xbox go to Netflix. "
Nothing.
"Xbox." Still nothing. "Xbox select." Nope. "Xbox go to settings." Not a ping. Won't respond in the slightest to any voice command.
And it gets worse. I tried to hold the Home button to turn of the system. The controller/console off menu never appears. Instead, the controller just powers down. So I went to settings manually via the menu button to turn the console off. That button doesn't work.
The only way to power down my console is to press the power button. So right now, I'm stuck with a literal paper weight of a Kinect and a console that doesn't want to turn off. But for some reason has no problem turning on.
Anyone here been in a similar boat?

Hard reset(clear cmos) : flip the circuit off at the surge protector. then power on manually. Then scan your computer/network.

Recalibrate the sensor's audio pickup and try xbox.com

It can't because it's listening to everyone else and not paying attention. Too busy sending data back to the NSA.

It's needs a hard reset Hold down power button until the console turns off, remember to hold, bout 2-3 seconds. Then wait until the power brick light turns orange 10-12 seconds That's it, turn it back on, reboot takes about 30 seconds

I had this problem also. To fix it, you have to follow these steps. 1. Go to settings 2. Then go to Kinect ( you should see a window in the middle which shows the Kinect acting as a mirror. ) if not, see if it is plugged in. 3. Look right and click on Kinect doesn't hear me. It starts to do some tests. Once it's finished, it should work.
