I'm all for this. You'll find that 90% of the people that disagree with you will be players that when you look at their profiles a majority of their time was spent playing the crucible. Crucible players don't want anyone having an advantage over them ever that they didn't earn. This is why I've been saying the two game mode should be separated. A trade system would be fine in PVE. There are plenty of games out there that have them that work just fine. I see how having one that would effect PVP could cause issues for those that care about PVP.

  • Actually not. I AM a PvE player...and a trading system would ELIMINATE much of the replay value of the PvE end of the game. Because a lot of the whole point of continuing to play the end-game material: strikes, raids, and missions on high levels of difficulty is to get the monsters to drop high-level loot. What is the point of playing and overcoming these difficult parts of the game....if you can just PURCHASE the fruits of other player's labor?? The way the game is set up, the only way to get the really good stuff is by taking on---and overcoming these challenges. Why would I---as a PvE player---want to see someone else walking around in the same high-level gear I had I had to sweat and struggle to earn.... ...that he simply bought off of someone else? At that point, why even bother to trade. Just go the CoD/BF route and let Activision just sell it to us as DLC....

  • well what do you think he did to get the glimmer or gear to trade for that? because last i checked just sitting around does not generate glimmer or gear.

  • So what you're saying is that if you and a friend do a strike and at the end your both rewarded with something you don't want but would benefit the other being able to trade would not be a good thing? You both earned what you have but don't want it. However you friend does want it and could benefit from it. Let's say it's just a gun you don't like but he does. A trade system is still bad?

  • 1. Yes, I'm saying exactly that. If another player wants the fruits that come from a strike...then he needs to go DO the strike. 2. Anything I don't need as a weapon will likely be taken a part as used as raw material for upgrading my own high level weapons. Lower level weapons can be upgraded for the price of glimmer. But as you go up into higher and higher level weapons, it will require stuff either farmed from PvE play (like spin metal, and relic iron), or from taking apart higher and higher level weapons and armor. 3. Yes, a trade system is bad. Because there is no reason for it...and trying to force one on the game only corrupts the core play of the game and its crafting system.

  • So you just picked through what I wrote to suit your side, nice job. If you and a friend do a strike then they will have DONE THE STRIKE. Right along side you. Since the gear given is random you could end up with something your friend wants or needs. What this is telling me is that not only you're a shity friend but a selfish person. Enjoy arguing with yourself from here on out.

  • This scenario would be the ONLY exception I could see to trading. And only have a limited window of opportunity to make the choice. Both need be present and actively doing the mission/strike etc. to be able to trade with one another.

  • here is something allot of people neglect to notice for what ever reason, just because you get a drop does not mean you earned it. i did a strike where i killed 90% of the beasts and did about 70% damage to the boses and got two drops, one of the people that came in it with me left and the other guy died about 50+ times and didnt really help, he got 5 engram's from that run. how did he earn those?

  • Rng is rng man. Some people have amazing luck and some people farm hours days months and never get what they want. It's the nature of the beast. Trading isn't the answer. But perhaps something like if boss x drops item y, and each time you kill it you still haven't received item y, perhaps the % will go up slightly after each kill. Ultimately you will get it. Maybe on try 1. Maybe 50. A system like that would be better IMO than trading items.

  • You have to think also that just like in the beta they gave us items that were a higher lvl then we could get to. Let's say I find a auto rifle that's lvl 15 and my friend has been looking for a auto rifle however he is only lvl 12 at the time. I should still be able to trade him something for it but he just can't use it until he's at the right lvl. The trade system in Dead Island works the same way. The trade system in that game works perfectly and doesn't effect gameplay what so ever. I don't think I've ever seen anyone ever complain about it. Most people love it.

ya im not a fan of the crucible myself. im not bad at it my average kdr was like 1.6 some games were as high as 6.0, but to me it just feels like playing halo. and i baught destiny because its suposed to be something unique and different. the pve is exactly that which is why im not disappointed. i just wish they did something more with the ships instead of finding a way to incorporate a halo style pvp in it.
