People fail to understand that it's not just about captures. You don't get points over time for control unless you own all 3,and even then it's not much at all. The control points act as a multiplier for kills. KDR is very important, it shows if you were helping your team toward the win, or just throwing points at the enemy team. Control two points and focus on kills from then on and you will be fine

  • So if you capture zones a lot, every kill that everyone on your team makes contributes more points, and every kill the enemy makes contributes less. Unless everyone on both teams is taking a nap, I think that qualifies as 'points over time.' Not saying K/D isn't important, but since I'm a mediocre player, captures are the best way I can contribute to the team.

  • Or you could run in less. People tend to die more when they spend a lot of time holding their sprint. Watch the radar, even though it's not perfect it does help a lot, it let's you know when you should be on your toes. Say I was capturing a point, or on my way to and people pop up on the radar. My priority switches from capturing the point to taking out people who could possibly deny the point to me and my team. A kill is a kill, which is points. You do no good to your team when you are dead, which has a negative effect on your KDR. Like I said earlier, it's not just how many points you get for your team but how often you are giving points to the enemy team. I'll choose living to score more versus dying while trying to capture.

  • Totally agree. This game type actually rewards you for a high K/D but doesn't punish you for "farming" kills as some would put it. Your K/D stat is the only indicator of you being any good. Caps are secondary to kills. It's crazy people do not understand this is just TDM in disguise!
