Does/Will Destiny have a trading system?
Because if I find a legendary warlock item, I'd like to be able to trade it for a titan legendary. Does anybody know the answer to this question?

I for one would love to see at least some sort of trading system implemented, especially seeing as legendary gear can be for any class! this makes it take absolutely forever to get a full outfit of legendary kit. A little grind is ok, it's part MMO afterall, but I'm feeling less like a player enjoying a game, and more like a pigeon in a box endlessly pecking a button on the off chance food will appear... I'd go with either a trading system, or at least a little more reliable loot. I've seen from other posts around here that some people seem to get very lucky with loot, and others get a bowl full of gruel. This has the affect of some of the players having a great time, and others just giving up through frustration. Player retention is the lifeblood of any multiplayer game, why then does it feel like destiny takes treats on a silver platter to some players, and a hamster wheel and whip to others.

11 RepliesI predicted we wouldnt have it right away. Player trading systems have lots of flaw / scam potential if not executed perfectly. Bungie managed to squeeze a lot into this first installment of destiny imo. I'm not upset if we dont get trading or a player market until late in this games life or even destiny 2. I want a system like that to be fully functional and no exploits.

4 RepliesAs far as I am concerned I never picked up an armor item for a different class than the one I was playing. Also even if I did I would just vault it and give it my own character of that class. I think trading would diminish the value of grinding and working for your own gear. Just my opinion.

You can however put it in your safe and use it with a different one of your created characters.

You can trade between your own characters, but there is no player trade.

What they will probably do is a system similar to warcraft. Where you can trade some items and not trade some. The best stuff in the game will be non trade able but they will have some we can. If people demand a market to trade things they will implement it.

9 RepliesI know we can trade items between our personal characters through the use of the vault, but I'd like it if we could trade with other players too. I hope this is added in for the launch. You've no idea how many times I've said to my friends "Oh, I have a sick weapon for you, one sec...oh wait, nvm. cant :/"

I could see them allowing us to trade encrypted engrams but not the actual items

I'm convinced a no trade policy is best. I will put in the time needed to get the items I want. Then I will use the heck out of that gear/ weapon for a long time because I know what it took to get it. If someone else was gifted the same item, I would get old quick.

1 ReplyJust read this article on destiny trade. Basically it seems bungie doesn't want to have a player to player trade till they figure some stuff out first.

No trading... Which is a really good thing! The gear you get is gear you earn! It helps that the loot streams are individual too. A trading system would just create glimmer farmers and crap that would ruin part of the game.

You had to scroll all the way down and there was an option to out the item up for trade. I know a friend gave some items to one of his buddies.

So far it does not....but if there was it needs to be a FAIR TRADING SYSTEM and not just a gifting system of sorts
