If it was indeed optional in alpha, it just goes to show you that the Bungie feels the the need to hold our hand while we play, like we're children. If the option was there, it can be added again. Hell, even if it wasn't, it's far easier to program controls without aim-assist than it is to program aim-assist. There's no excuse. Aim-assist has ruined the game for me. It's like a race car that only has automatic transmission. I consider this a bug - the product I bought is defective. If this doesn't get fixed, I can't buy another Bungie title in good conscience. Of course if they fix it, that's a different story.
