If you don't like it, then don't invest so much time now. You KNOW it's a beta so don't go off the wall crazy. Just play the game to enjoy it. Why are people so picky about every damn thing? This game seems to be revolutionary and you are worried about getting back to lvl 8? You knew it was a beta. Why waste resources on bringing a stupid beta character over when you can add another map to the game or 5 more levels? There are things more important than skipping over the first few levels upon release.
