Local co-op
You should make destiny local co-op a open option so my wife can play the story with me. She wants to play destiny but not without me. She don't have any Psn friends. So please put local co-op in destiny for the story missions. Spit the screen side by side not top and bottom.

It's an always online open share world. Things like local co-op and split screen don't exist. It's the future of gaming and Destiny is the start of it. You'll need separate consoles, screens and subscription accounts to play together. My guess is that online servers do all the tracking of items/activity in the open world and our consoles do the work of rendering the world. What is allowed for networking back and forth between the console and the servers, I don't know but it seems with both Sony and Microsoft, if you want to play with someone else in the future, you'll both require subscription accounts for games like Destiny where the servers do all the work in tracking the environment/player activity. Maybe someone else can explain it a lot better.

6 RepliesThis isn't going to happen. The reason is simply that the game that Destiny is and was meant to be is not a game that would be played locally or with split screen. Just like other multiplayer online games do not lend themselves to those features. You may be better off waiting for a game that has those specific features that you and your wife can enjoy.

I'm dumbfounded at the people that say split screen means less sales. Split screen = more people playing more often instead of other games that have it. This means more reason to develop the game long term and more people to sell DLC to. If the future of coop is two consoles and two TVs then consoles will fade into obscurity as they fully embrace the "weaker PC" label. Point is, I'm not going to spend $1000 on a console experience. I'll get a PC for that price that's just as easy to bring to a friend's house for the same coop experience consoles are giving now but with superior graphics.

I agree 101 %. My wife only plays halo, thats what halo so great, because we can do it togather. We have played since the original combat evoled to present 13 years november. Come on bungie how can you do that to all the split screen fans. So it's slower, takes longer to load, we don't mind we'll wait. Don't let us down after all this wait. Eric Osbourne say all you at bungie love it. So wtf ???

Fully agree. My wife and I would put in some serious hours into this game, and some serious cash, if couch co-op was possible. Otherwise, this game is going to fall off my radar quickly. As Snoop once sang, "It ain't no fun if the homies can't have none!". In this case, my wife. ;)

i agree 100%!! i do not care if when you play split screen id makes the visual quality go down a little, because i would expect that. I just want to be able to flop on a couch with some of my buddies and play crucible and such without needing multiple tvs and multiple ps4s. That little fact right there is one of the greatest reasons we hold halo so near and dear to our hearts!! Being able to crowd around a tv and play local coop with my friends or my gf has always been the most fun in my opinion.

I 100% agree, my wife wants to play, but it's not realistic to buy another tv, ps4, and game just so we can play together. There is no downside to this. Those who want to use it can. Those who voted no on here make no sense because it's not like you would even notice it, it's not like you're forced to split your screen. Too many games now days have no local co-op, it sucks! Bungie rules! All hail!

9 RepliesOmg agree. No split screen really has me on the verge of cancelling my pre-order. I was loving the game to be able to play split screen with my fiancee and with our 2 best friends who live up north like we did in boarderlands (Boarderlands is amazing still especially comparing Destiny to it at this point.). We are all really disappointed and I think its REDICULOUS to make people buy another system and game and subscription just to be able to play with each other. You want to sell 15 mill copies of Destiny to at least break even on your 500 MILLION budget in the game? MAKE SPLIT SCREEN AND YOULL AUTOMATICALLY GET HALF THE SALES! LISTEN TO THE FANS AS THEY PUT MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!!!!!!!!
