Seems like you only get distance information on items that are needed for the mission. I think if you need to travel to different locations for a mission the field markers should have the distance away as well. This would be helpful to know so you can grab the sparrow when the mission requires a lot of travel.

I think bungie wants to keep you guessing and feel like you're actually exploring instead of just following a trail
-
Anyone else run into the issue with explore mode and repeated missions. Meaning you accidently accept the same mission again because it wasn't marked. Too many times have my friends and I walked up to a beacon and were wondering "did we do this one yet?" Only to find its the same mission
-
I agree. While playing the beta, I didn't know if the objective was above or below.
-
And dib't you dare put the distance in Ft like some trash, meters or not at all.
-
-
That's a good idea!
-
YES THIS!!!!

-
Completely agree. Because if it's forever away I'm hoping on a sparrow. Problem is you can't tell how far it is
-
yes and also you should be able to toggle the destination being there at all times or have it off
-
Agreed. The marker we follow needs to stay on screen too. It goes away after only 3 or 4 seconds so then i have to stop my sprint to hit the touch pad. Fix this. Well a MAP would fix this..............

lol. GREAT point! I forgot to mention the same recommendation.

While in explore mode, picking up a quick mission can be fun, until I realize that I have to spen five plus minutes traveling through outdoor and indoor areas to get there, when all I wanted was something more local. Having a distance marking would help to understand where the final destination or desination area would be.

I support this, the first time I do a mission I'm walking anyway because I'm super OCD about exploring but after ill do plenty of riding my sparrow.
-
I also feel like the navigation points should stay up longer or be available without having the ghost out.
-
I think they map a waypoint to the dpad because making us slowdown and take out mr dinkelage is annoying

Edited by Skjult: 7/21/2014 8:08:43 PMYes this would be nice, but only one from where you are to where it is, not all the navigation points in between.

I think the map will be expanded on the companion app. I think that they are going to make the map on the companion app reflect information in real time and will change for each level/mission
-
A map would be lovely, but I'd settle for markers that don't disappear after a few seconds, and perhaps numerical representation of how far away you are from the target. Strider (2014) did this, and it worked well.

Edited by KingSora23: 7/19/2014 11:26:52 PMi agree, and i think it would be helpful for exploring and doing those side missions. because then you can just abandon if u dont wanna travel so far. please check out my post, need bungie to see this http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/66484855/0/0

That is a good point. Only the end location needs it. If not all of the distances would be small...details details.
-
Agreed. There have been a couple of times when I've followed a waypoint to realize that it's below ground. Sometimes it's difficult to tell if the waypoint is in a building I'm looking at, or a building directly behind it some distance away.

This would be very nice to have. The mission beacons in exploration mode already have this, so it shouldn't be too tough to add it to story missions.
