Any justifciable reason for the slap in the face?
Hi all I was hoping if someone could explain to me why xbox fans will only have 4 days to play the beta? I don't understand why my $5 is different than a playstation's fans, that warrants this difference. Many people see the beta as a gift, which I understand. However if people were like me and preordered the game just for the beta, you should see why I would be a little unhappy I am receiving less for my money
Edit: This thread is not meant to be a console war but rather why we aren't evening the field for both consoles.

Bungie and Microsoft parted a bit ungracefully and Antivision decided to escalate the shit out out of it.

Sony paid more for their deal. That's the reason. Whether or not you feel it's justifiable is up to you.

To be fair, your money down on a preorder pays for a reserved copy of the game. The beta is an additional perk. Still, I can understand that a measly four days for the beta would be a bit frustrating.

You chose to buy a Microsoft console you could have just as easily chosen to buy a Sony console if having only having four days to play a beta (which is a privilege in itself) is such a big issue. Also considering Microsoft fans had exclusivity with the Halo series I think it's safe to say that more than makes up for a few days difference in beta access between consoles.

Like whats with that I've been wanting this ever sense i first saw on my dashboard for xbox one games and now we have to wait a year for dlc to come out only 4 day for beta and if I rember they get exclusive dlc and to think me and my freinds were gonna buy this because we could go around shooting the creature/aliens but if were not gonna get full expierence why buy it and I f they think I'm gonna switch to ps4 because they get the dlc first for a year then your -blam!-in dumb, I'm gonna stay on xbox and buy halo and gears. Rather play the game where bungie actually cared about there xbox fans.

Your $5 is going towards the purchase of the game, you just happen to get to play the beta. It was announced a long time ago that PS would be getting early beta time, so idk how you can be surprised.

1 ReplyThe only justifiable reason is that you stick to one console. When a company made a deal with Bungie, you might stand to lose out from the benefits. Be a multiplatformer, enjoy all games be much happier.

Sony paid Activision? And the five dollars is part of the cost of the game... That comes out in September

You're confused as to why PS is getting the beta early. It has nothing to do with the $5 you spent vs the $5 that a PS fan spent. Rather it has everything to do with the thousands of $5 that Sony spent vs the thousands of $0 that Microsoft spent. Console manufacturers pay for exclusives. In this case, Sony bought those extra 4 days for their users. A PlayStation user's money buys them 4 days of beta. It's all the same. Sony has just also kicked in money to give PS players an additional 4 days.

4 RepliesWell look at it this way originally both betas were only going to be 4 days. Then Activision and Bungie made a deal with Sony so they can get it earlier. Honestly id rather have it only four days cause I don't want to get burned out. You can't just blame bungie but Activision if you feel hurt. I don't see any betrayal or slaps to the face. Im also an Xbox user and Playstation user.
