dark souls is too hard

I played it for like 5 hours and it's like impossible to get past that buffalo boss on the bridge with the archers behind you. Any tips?

  • Lmao I don't think any boss has taken me more than 20-30 minutes to figure out.

    • Loved that game. I am now enjoying Dark Souls 2. It's a lot harder in my opinion. I keep dying a lot.

      • First, before engaging the boss, climb up the ladder and kill the archers. Use a normal shield, and a weapon you are familiar with. When you engage the boss, you want to fight him away from any rubble. Put pine resin on your weapon and try to get between it's legs and behind it. Never let yourself run out of stamina. Attack openings, but never risk that second hit.

      • dark souls has a learning curve. trust me. its tough to start off. i remember a few months back when i started it, i couldn't get past the undead burg, and i was stupid enough to keep trying to kill havel. never did. i took a break from the game for a month or so, and when i came back i tried to really study the game mechanics. learning how to roll, the frames were you're invincible, types of rolling, parrying and the timing, types of enemies and their attacks, types of attacks (r1/r2) and all other stuff. i was able to kill havel a lot faster and then the game really started to pick up and i enjoyed the -blam!- out of it. i did 4 runs back to back to back to back (my main, a sorcerer, a dex/faith build, a giantdad build, and my current dex/pyro build). the game is so much fun once you get the hang of it. and when you do get the hang of it, next time you're running through the burg/taurus demon, you'll breeze right through them

        • Dark souls is an unfriendly game..No one is your friend (for too long heh heh) I beat it recently, has good story. Try side-stepping in the middle of the bridge by the gap for the taurus demon

        • The game really isn't too hard. It's punishing, it isn't a forgiving game, you make a mistake you die.

        • There's a ladder. Kill the archers before the boss. Get bosses attention. Run back up ladder( fast) jump off land attack.( massive damages) run away, run back to ladder. Repeat

        • You know, I quit after about 4-5 hours of playing. Because after that I just had to look up what to do and how to kill all the bosses and that's no fun.

The game's got a steep learning curve, but keep trying and you'll certainly get better. As for the Tauros Demon, try looking for a way to deal with those pesky archers before activating the boss. Use your environment wisely. Also, he's weak to lightning, so gold pine resin on your weapon would also give you an advantage. Knowing when to block, dodge and heal along with using your environment is a skill you'll need to develop, takes practice though.

          • Kill the archers then get him out of the tower, then climb the ladder, then drop attack him, then dodge his attacks and keep attacking him.

Good to see people are still picking up Dark Souls. Don't get too attached though, the sequel is nowhere near as good.

              • Ok so I tried to do that once and I accidentally drank all my Estus Flasks because I forgot the controls and kept pressing X (Xbox) so I died. I just went back to CoD after that. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.
