Prior to the destiny alpha I had not played any fps games for sometime ( maybe feb )...
Had a lot of fun in the alpha pve and pvp.
Tried to play cod ghost last night my aim and movement was all over the place... It's the 60fps thing... Took me a good 4-5 games to get adjusted again.
I'm not saying 30fps is a problem with destiny but man 60fps would have been much better.
30 fps works fine in pve but it's a different story in pvp,
I know the theory of its "open world" 60fps would be hard.. But what about pvp ? Smaller areas, destiny's textures are really not much different from ghosts ps4. Really graphics don't seem much different.
I'll still enjoy the game but just realized how slow the pvp felt.
I understand last gen probably holds it back to..
Why can't the crucible run at 60fps ? I'm sure it's tech possible unless the next build we see knocks our socks off in the graphics dept.

Yes I agree. Everything I play on PC is 60fps. It's a must for me. And yes, destiny should have been 60fps. Although, I would place more fault on the console makers. The performance and power of both consoles isn't what it should have been for 2013. But then again, that would also be more expensive. Ah, I digress.
-
FPS shouldnt have any bearing on the sensitivity. Just up your look sensitivity.
-
Lololol I feel the same way. Ghosts aiming acceleration/deceleration feels so natural and coming to destiny afterwards feels clunky with the slower aiming & strong aim assist XD 60fps does make it smoother & precise, but i think thats why they put in strong aim assist to make up for it in destiny
-
Obviously 60fps is double the bandwidth of 30fps, so any speed issues have nothing to do with destiny, even your TV will have less lag at 30 vs 60.
-
Doesn't matter to me. I'm just happy to be enjoying another Bungie title.
-
I'm curious as to why all of these "60fps" threads have popped up all of a sudden? I'm at work just scrolling through the forums and every other post is about the frame rate. Just wondering why it's an issue being brought up so much today.
-
Going from Ghosts to Destiny was a struggle. Turning was painful and guns didn't feel natural. Last night I tried Black Ops and boy did I not do well. Did better than my average but that's not the point haha
-
Sounds more like the movement speed was just off. Halo or Destiny felt very natural at a slower aim speed while I tend to play CoD at around a 7 or 8. So, going from Halo to CoD just felt all wrong, but CoD to Halo never really bothered me.
-
Destiny, much like halo has a slower aim speed/sensitivity compared to games such as CoD or battlefield. It isn't the frame rate at all.
-
It's not the frame rates it's the sensitivity. A destiny 8 setting is Cod 3. I'm used to a 8 or 9 on Cod. Turning and aiming seems slow ass hell in destiny.
-
You just went full retard. First you can't make a game half 30fps half 60fps. Second CoD is worthless trash but I will tell you this...
It makes great toilet paper. :)
Edited by Kero: 6/29/2014 2:07:32 AMI generally do prefer 60 fps for shooters. But my long-lasting love affair with Halo has made me perfectly O.K. with Bungie's 30 fps gameplay. I'd probably prefer it at 60, though.

Two words... SPACE MAGIC
-
Hey man I'm just glad to experience seating even though 60fps would be grea, I'm glad I get to play something other than CoD and battlefield...
-
Yeah PvP was slow. I actually got more hook on leveling even after I had max lvl all 3 chars.
-
Had the same problem when returning to BF4 after alpha, made a thread and got bashed lol. Alot of ppl want 60, but even myself have just gotten used to the idea. The next title they put out will most likely be pure new gen though. While we wait, it's not that bad just try not to switch shooters too much. The game is really smooth though, and beautiful. Can't forget that.
-
I think its only 30 because they want it to run smoothly on last gen im sure once ps3 and xbox is gone it will get upgraded atleast I hope
-
It felt faster than Halo, and it certainly was. The "slowness" might not be the frames per second, so much as it being Halo-ISH in that players take a good bit of damage before dying and the such.

because they were a bit lazy
