Wager matches. Yay or Nay?

Since there's no trading system, why not do a wager game of keeping the enemy players loot/weapons. Do it 1v1 style and there'll be a big screen showing who is against who. They wager their best weapons and 200 glimmer (currency idk) and fight up to three rounds. 6v6 works like 1v1, top three players on each team wager their weapons and cash. Losing team will lose their wager and so on. I just had this idea from playing COD BO1

  • I'd say yes when it comes to glimmer, but not for loot because I'd get cocky and bet all my best stuff and then lose it all because I'm terrible at PvP. xD

  • The 1v1 should only have pistols and very few bullets. To get a kill

    • My two main problems with this are as follows... 1. How would it match people? If I don't want to risk my top tier gear, then obviously I am not going to do that and put up worse weapons. Assuming that it would match on level, even if I win, I would get worse gear. And if I wager a shotgun, does that mean I get a shot gun, or whatever they wagered? So I risk a shotgun and they risk a heavy, they would be more upset that they wagered it. There has to be a consistency in these things and would be hard to match based on a number of criteria. 2. People would abuse it for a trading system and lose on purpose just to give weapons to friends or the other way around. I personally don't like the idea of a trading system because weapons and gear are so crucial to Destiny. The subclasses have such a low cap, and the rest is supposed to be a grind for the better and better weapons. I mean if I had to go through the vault of glass to epic gear, I EARNED that gear and it should be marveled upon by players who aren't able to complete or are too low a level to do the end game raid. Earning gear and telling where you got it is way better then "oh yeah my buddy mark just had duplicates from the raid so I got it without trying hurrr durrr" I would have NO PROBLEM with glimmer based matches though.

Bungie plans to implement player to player trading post-launch after they get a feel of the waters (they see how players will influence an economy.

        • This could work. The system would have to make it so that you don't have to wager your best weapons though. I think it would work best if people choose what they want to wager (weapons, armor, amount of glimmer) and then players are matched up against players who wager items of similar value.

            • It would be alright if you didn't wager your items but just your glimmer.

              • Heck no! Anyone who has played the Alpha knows you become too attached to your weapons to want to risk them!
