Are you sure this is a misnconseption? I was fairly certain our teachers made it clear that there's a difference between knowledge and obtaining knowledge through science. Also,

You might want to tread lightly here. Although this statement is generally true, there have been times when false conclusions have been reached through the scientific method, be it human error, instrument error, etc. Basically it just comes down to data precision.
Then again in the grand scheme of things, peer review could help invalidate some false findings if you want to include that.

I think I said somewhere that 'as long as the scientific method is followed correctly...' but maybe I could have been more clear that there is human and instrument failure.
